Exactly what we expected. The pictures simply don't do the yurt justice.
Although the entrance was worryingly low (I'm quite tall) the inside was spacious and beautifully decorated.
The owners Les and Sharon were there to greet us upon arrival and were welcoming and friendly. Les was happy to show our son around the cows, which he enjoyed greatly.
The summer house was well equipped with a toilet/shower room in one half and a kitchen the other. The hamper of basic, yet essential goodies was a lovely touch.
Both the yurt and summer house were immaculately kept.
The isolation of the site was great for my family, even the poor mobile phone signal was a relief in many ways.
Our son was delighted to get to name a newborn cow - look out for "Coco".

We will be looking to return next year.

    Nothing.

I think that it being a smaller site what is written on the board is gospel we were bombarded by one particular inconsiderate camper that insisted playing excessively loud music which as far as I can see was not dealt with.! Then apparently people were expected to go to sleep at 10 pm but someone who was also not dealt with hit my granddaughter on the head by someone complaining we were TALKING, not dealt with either! dad is now MAD understandably and then kids were not allowed to go to the toilet NOT DEALT WITH!

Safe and friendly campsite in a beautiful location. The owners were great and very friendly, the toilets and wash areas were clean and tidy with all the facilities catered for.

    Disliked:

The only down side to our stay was the rain. Although there is nothing that can be done about the weather the site could do with better drainage as the water pooled on the pitch areas.

Great site, really nice owners that go that bit extra to make you comfortable.
Toilets and showers always clean ,
Field leads out onto old unused railway line , that is a path , this takes you into some lovely forests , great for den building and rambling through with the kids. You can walk for miles if your up for it. Don't forget the Welles .
Dog friendly beaches at Bude ,with rock pooling for the kids, 25 min drive.
Great food at the local junction inn pub , they also do take out , was good for us.

    Disliked:

Weather, mud that came with the weather, and some other inconsiderate campers .
But none of this was down to owners that did what they could to improve the situation.

The owners are a lovely couple who really do their best to help where they could even getting me unstuck when my car got stuck in the mud! The facilities are basic but constantly cleaned.

    Disliked:

The site needs to improve its drainage if possible as well as having a pathway that is drivable even in bad conditions (Though the owners are putting some things in place to help this)

Would have been nice to have a couple of lounge chairs to sit outside the yurt as well of picnic table and chairs

From the manager...

We are so glad to hear you have enjoyed your stay in the yurt. Thank you for the feedback - we can understand the need to have some comfy chairs to sit in so we will order some for the yurt. The chairs will be here for the next time you visit!!
