View towards Dartmoor

General

  • Six-acre farm site with spectacular views towards Dartmoor
  • Meet the farm animals and have a trailer or tractor ride
  • Bar and restaurant, toddlers' playroom and games room for older kids

Old MacDonald had a…Parkers Farm? Herd your fledglings here to meet Susie the miniature goat and the rest of the herd: ponies, lambs, guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs, ducks, chickens, sheep and cows all live on Parkers Farm Holiday Park, right in the middle of the south Devon countryside with quacking great views towards Dartmoor and a 12-mile drive from the coast. (Naturally, dogs are welcome too.)

Farm fans can milk their holiday for all it’s worth with trailer and tractor rides around the site and daily farm walks to meet, greet and feed the menagerie; safe play areas and six acres of fields are available for the kids and dogs to go free range at too. Off site, the farm is near a flock of other Devon animal attractions: Pennywell Farm, Paignton Zoo and meeting the ponies of Dartmoor are within a quick drive.

The Parker family have run the farm as a holiday park for over 60 years and know the ropes in keeping guests relaxed and a-moo-sed: Miss Piggy's bar and restaurant dishes up home-cooked and well-cooked meals as well as takeaway, and has evening entertainment from mid-July to the end of August. (Dogs are welcome in the bar’s Oak Room).

Next to the bar, a spacious play/TV room is for toddlers to let loose in and older kids have a games room with video games, pool tables and table tennis.

Guests also have access to the stacks of clean and up-to-date facilities: two tiled shower blocks with free hot showers, two big family rooms, well-equipped disabled facilities and a large area for washing up and prepping vegetables.

Other amenities include a shop open from Whitsun to mid-September, launderette and free ironing facilities, post box and public phone, battery charging and an ice pack service.

Amazing site, really clean, great atmosphere, really helpful friendly staff. We played bingo in the bar in the evening, bottle fed the lambs and had freshly laid eggs for breakfast. Lovely site, have booked to go back in 2 weeks.

This was my first visit here and I would definitely return. We booked this as a last minute decision and it was ideal as it was close to home. It was easy to find and I was made to feel welcome upon check in.

We were put on Row D in the first pitch, which was great as the kids had plenty of room to play outside our campervan, plus we were close to the water points and toilet / shower block. The shower block was very modern and very clean which you don't always find on camp sites.

The site had a few parks scattered around with trampolines which was nice for the kids to play on. There was also an enclosed grass area when me and my young son was playing football.
And to top it off you can visit different animals around the site (lambs, piglets, chickens etc).

We had a drink from the bar in the evening (again friendly staff) and the kids played in the games room for a while.

The only thing I would say is that you can't pick up any TV signal (which isn't the sites fault) but if you take a long coaxial cable you can plug it into the electricity point where a port is available

    Overall a really nice stay!

We only stayed for one night, but from everything we saw there was nothing we did not dislike.

A lovely place to sit and admire Dartmoor with excellent facilities 29/09/2018

Although this is a very large site and close to the main A38, therefore a bit noisy, it is beautifully laid out and landscaped for the best views and privacy possible. There are farm animals to enjoy, child play areas, and reasonable dog walks. My pitch enabled me to sit and admire the sunset over Dartmoor with my evening drink.

Access is easy and directions clear. Reception was warm and friendly as well as efficient. The showers and washing up stations are immaculate and the water hot!!

Local attractions

You might be all of a dither trying to decide which Devon attraction to visit first, as coast, country, active options and peaceful pursuits are all near Parkers Farm, whether you prefer off the beaten track or more famed areas like Dartmoor National Park.

Beaches first? Your pitch is a paltry 12 miles from the Devon coastline and the seaside towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. If you’d like to cram as much activity as possible into one area, Dartmoor National Park's your spot: start off with horse riding or pony trekking from one of the several stables (the park has different areas marked off for different levels of rider).

More urban(e)ly, Exeter, Newton Abbot and Ashburton are close to hand too if you fancy some shopping, a dip in Ashburton’s heated outdoor pool or a small flutter at Exeter Racecourse on the Haldon Hills.

Must see

  • Buckfast Abbey (3.3 miles)
  • Paignton Zoo Environmental Park (9.3 miles)
  • Living Coasts (9.9 miles)

  • Compton Castle (6.6 miles)
