  • Six-acre farm site with spectacular views towards Dartmoor
  • Meet the farm animals and have a tractor trailer ride
  • Bar and restaurant, toddlers' play area and games room for older kids
Old MacDonald had a… Parkers Farm? Herd your fledglings here to meet Douglas and Jimmy the donkeys and the rest of the herd: ponies, lambs, guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs, ducks, chickens, sheep, goats, alpacas and cows all live on Parkers Farm Holiday Park, right in the middle of the south Devon countryside with quacking great views towards Dartmoor and a 12-mile drive from the coast. (Naturally, dogs are welcome too.) Farm fans can milk their holiday for all it’s worth with free tractor-trailer rides around the site and farm walks to meet, greet and feed the menagerie (on a Monday, Thursday or Saturday during English school holiday periods only); safe play areas and six acres of fields are available for the kids and dogs to go free range at too. Off site, the farm is near a flock of other Devon animal attractions: Pennywell Farm, Paignton Zoo and meeting the ponies of Dartmoor are within a quick drive. The Parker family have run the farm as a holiday park for over 60 years and know the ropes in keeping guests relaxed and a-moo-sed: Miss Piggy's bar and restaurant dishes up home-cooked and well-cooked meals as well as takeaway, and has evening entertainment during the school holiday periods. (Dogs are welcome, too.) In the bar and restaurant, there is a soft play area for toddlers to let loose in, while older kids can play in the games room with video games and pool tables. Guests also have access to the stacks of clean and up-to-date facilities: two tiled shower blocks with free hot showers, two big family rooms, well-equipped disabled facilities and a large area for washing up and prepping vegetables. Other amenities include a shop, a launderette, free ironing facilities, an information area and an ice pack service. There's also an on-site breakfast catering van to tend to hungry tummies every morning during the high season (and only at weekends during the low season).

Liked Wonderful staff really lovely people, well kept pitch’s and plenty of space, love the lay out of the site

Disliked No heating in showers and toilet areas and was very cold, sky light looks like it’s never been cleaned and toilets don’t flush properly but don’t let this put you off staying

Liked Animals to interact with on the grounds and very dog safe, The bar has a doggy friendly section & parks for kids to play on a small one up the top and a larger one at the bottom by the bar & reception.
The food in the bar was lovely they even had specials on their boards daily & entertainment/ activities to get involved in. Massive shout out to the catering lady named CHLOE for being fabulous with a warm welcoming smile to help feel comfortable & PETE who worked behind the bar with his fantastic skills of remembering what drinks we drank, being completely understanding and supportive of any minor issues we had that were dealt with promptly and in a professional manner. these two members of staff deserve to be acknowledged for this as it helped make our holiday perfect. There's also a children's play area for the rainy days and games room we didn't go in but saw the signage for downstairs under the bar.
neighbours were pleasant on the right, to the left were a rowdy tent but it being my first time i'm sure it happens and is out of the sites control for how others volume their language, i'm sure had i brought it up it would have been dealt with but i didn't want to be a burden and it was tolerable.
when checking in you need to have cash of £10 pounds for the barrier pass which is refundable when checking out. staff in reception were pleasant with warm smiles and very informative with a map for the site. there is also a breakfast bap van on site, we never got chance to use it as it wasn't open for long but it smelt lovely and neighbours said the baps were nice.
overall we had a lovely time on parkers farm its safe to say we will be back !

Disliked toilets were weak at flushing & waitresses who brought out the food and collected plates were very rude & unprofessional. one young lady with dark hair gave dirty looks & ignored us when we tried to make conversation & the blonde young lady seemed more bothered about discussing with the darker haired lass her personal relationships.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We really appreciate all your positive comments and have taken on board your feedback. We are very sorry to hear our waitresses weren’t professional but are thrilled to hear other members of staff were great! We have spoken to our waitresses so hopefully this level of service will not be repeated again. We hope to welcome you again.

Fantastic place to stay.

Liked All the staff are fantastic, pitches are spacious and flat, and great views.
Loved walking around the farm, Torquay, Brixham ect just 40 minutes away.
We spent the weekend here with our dog, on departure we booked up for a week next month, we are really looking forward to returning.

Disliked Alot of dog owners walking around with thier dog off the lead, our dog doesn't like other male dogs, he is kept on a lead at all times, the dogs tend to run towards ours to greet him but are then faced with and angry response from our dog. We then have to move our dog as fast as possible. The owners of the dogs off the leads then give us a dirty look, im sorry but its you thats in the wrong. Keep your dog on the lead.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased to hear you found our staff friendly and enjoyed our pitches. It is a shame to hear that other dog owners weren’t respectful of our rules. We will look into buying more signs to address this issue. We hope to welcome you back again soon.

Excellent site, great location and very pleasant. Will book again.

Liked The new couple who run the site were fabulous and very welcoming. The site itself was very clean and maintained to a high standard. We loved all the animals, especially the Alpacas. We also paid £5 and got to feed the lambs which was an amazing experience. We will definitely be returning and will highly recommend to our family and friends.

Local attractions

You might be all of a dither trying to decide which Devon attraction to visit first, as coast, country, active options and peaceful pursuits are all near Parkers Farm, whether you prefer off the beaten track or more famed areas like Dartmoor National Park. Beaches first? Your pitch is a paltry 12 miles from the Devon coastline and the seaside towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. If you’d like to cram as much activity as possible into one area, Dartmoor National Park's your spot: start off with horse riding or pony trekking from one of the several stables (the park has different areas marked off for different levels of rider). More urban(e)ly, Exeter, Newton Abbot and Ashburton are close to hand too if you fancy some shopping, a dip in Ashburton’s heated outdoor pool or a small flutter at Exeter Racecourse on the Haldon Hills.
