  • A 10-minute drive to Flambards Theme Park; 15 minutes to Marazion
  • On-site pub; five minutes’ walk to the beach and South West Coast Path
A family-run touring caravan and campsite located about 500 meters from the centre of the historic fishing village of Porthleven, Mill Lane Campsite is a dog-friendly spot with generous-sized, level pitches and plenty of space for all the family. The campsite is a five-minute walk from Porthleven beach, famous as one of Cornwall’s best reef breaks (are you listening, surfers?). It’s also five minutes to the South West Coast Path, making this a great base for long-distance hikers too. Porthleven village hosts the award-winning Food Festival in July, but you can eat in quirky cafes, traditional pubs or fine-dining restaurants – all serving fresh, seasonal food – any time of year. Pick up foodie supplies in the local shops – including delicious Cornish pasties – and there’s a handy supermarket too. And there’s no need to fret about keeping everyone entertained in the evenings. The on-site free house sells the world-famous Cornish ale Spingo, brewed in Helston (10 minutes’ drive), so adults are never far away from a refreshment. For the kids, there’s a pool table in the pub, as well as sport on the big screen and live music throughout the year. Bingo fans can play every Friday evening at 7pm with cash prizes.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Stayed here a few times and always loved it .only 20 mins from home but could be a million miles away .such a clean and tidy site with very good facilities.

Disliked: Only dislike is dogs off lead .we always bring our two but never off the lead.little upsetting when someone's dog is on our pitch and we're sat out side with ours who are tied up and then just wonder over ..

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Nice welcome, wide/flat pitches, small and quiet site, brilliant location for town (5 min walk). Superb showers and clean but gents toilet shared with pub which is not a problem given what you are in there for - so we don't understand why some give negative feedback on that element. Wifi v. fast with no buffering (streamed movies as well as needed to do a few hours work online). Bonus is the pub on site 'Out of the Blue' - good selection of ales/cider and according to locals, the cheapest pub in Porthleven with 'bonus' dodgy bingo caller on Friday nights (to cringe and laugh at). Will deffo stay again as it's so easy to be there.

Disliked: Nothing much to dislike, other feedback suggests site is a little tired and we agree but everything works and you cannot beat the location and facilities for price you are paying. If you want a more modern site miles out of town then go for it but we much prefer a site like this where everything works, you are 5 mins out of town (so no taxis needed) and then own pub on site for nightcap.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Location of the campsite is brilliant within 5 minutes walk of the harbour. The bar attached to the site was good, friendly staff, good selection of drinks and friendly locals plus their dogs! The ladies showers and toilets were cleaned first thing in the morning and provide everything you need even though they are quite dated. The owners have tried to address the muddy paths and access roads by putting down gravel in vulnerable spots.

Disliked: Pitches seemed very narrow but all had a large area of grass that can be used for seating or awnings. The site could benefit from a tidy up especially around the chemical toilet emptying area and a lot more landscaping as it is a bit like staying in a car park.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Friendly staff when booking and on site. Very easy location to walk into town. Facilities were cleaned well. Very relaxed site.

Disliked: Tight turning to get into pitch means slight overrun onto grass and mud. But as we left a lorry full of gravel arrived. Facilities were clean but dated.

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked: Nice clean showers / toilets! Good facilities for washing up. Amazing location / short walk to the harbour and beach :) nice onsite pub!

Disliked: Not really anything that we disliked - maybe basic facilities but that’s what we opted for and was still a lovely stay.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Location was fab, short walk to Portleven and coastal walks. Bus stop by site to access to other areas with a regular service. Site was clean and tidy, pitch was allocated with excellant directions prior to arrival. Can't wait to return .

Disliked: It was but tight to access the hardstanding without driving over the grass section which at this time of the year were expectedly rather muddy.

Local attractions

If you’re keen to get out on the water, Porthleven beach (five minutes’ walk) is a fantastic surfing spot, and you can take coastal cruises (try one at dusk for spectacular sunset views) or sea-fishing trips from Porthleven harbour (10 minutes). Meanwhile, at Marazion (15 minutes’ drive) it’s a short hop across the bay to the crag-top castle and gardens at Mount St Michael. Kids will clamour to get on the coasters and flumes at Flambards Theme Park (10 minutes), or splash in the sea at sheltered Gunwalloe Church Cove Beach. There are plenty of family hikes along the Lizard Heritage Coast (both 20 minutes) and lots of seabirds for the kids to spot along the way. And there’s masses of art and culture in these parts too; the galleries and museums of St Ives (30 minutes) warrant a day’s attention, and there are rare plants and wacky artworks to be seen in Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (20 minutes).
