  • Peaceful wild-style site with simple facilities, near Godrevy village
  • A five-minute drive to Gwithian beach; 20 minutes to St Ives
  • Gorgeous views to the sea and Godrevy Lighthouse; dogs welcome
Sea views come as standard at Godrevy Wilds, a small site in an excellent spot just between the A30 and the Cornish coastline. From here you’ll look out towards Gwithian beach and Godrevy Lighthouse – a stunning view at any time, but particularly spectacular at sunset hour. That wonderful setting means this is a splendid spot for a Cornish coastal getaway, whether you’re planning lots of outdoor activities or a quieter break that revolves around beach time, coast path walks and sea-view picnics. As the name suggests, this is a simple and low-impact site where facilities have intentionally been kept to the essentials (just a couple of toilets, a shower and a cold-water washing-up area) to preserve the peaceful wild camping-style atmosphere for visitors and wildlife alike. Guest numbers are also kept on the low side to make sure there’s always plenty of space for everyone to relax and never feel crowded in. There’s a laidback and friendly atmosphere here, but it’s not a party site – no music is allowed, and no noisy groups. Getting out and about is easy here, with the A30 just a few minutes’ drive away. That means you can be in Hayle in about 10 minutes (for supermarkets and other shops) or St Ives (for art galleries) in 20 minutes. Closer to home, there are a couple of cafés and pubs within two miles, along with a farm shop, and it’s a five-minute drive/35-minute walk to the beaches at Godrevy or Gwithian.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked View was insane. Such a lovely place. Cannot rate this higher. Shower was nice and warm and toilet was clean. The owner came and checked on us on his way to work and was friendly and a lovely guy. Good communication throughout. Honestly loved this place and would love to come back time and time again. Price was so good and would not begrudge paying a little more.

Disliked Stay being over and having to leave.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked great little start up business, absolutely amazing, so peaceful, had the field to ourselves only cows as neighbours! Short walk to the brand new showers and toilet block, which was lovely. pot washing station and drinking water. signal was limited but it’s wild camping, leave those phones alone! do need blocks but the pitches are pretty level and also big!

Local attractions

It has to be the beach first, right? Both Godrevy and Gwithian beaches are five minutes’ drive away and popular with swimmers, sunset-watchers and surfers; there are surf schools in Godrevy for those who need a helping hand. You might also choose to take a walk, heading over to the South West Coast Path to hike for as long as you’d like, with sea views all the way. Where you go next is up to you – birdwatchers will want to head over to the Hayle estuary (about 10 minutes’ drive) to spot native and migratory species, while art lovers aim for St Ives (20 minutes), to spend some time exploring Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum & Sculpture Garden before a stroll on the beach. Elsewhere, you could visit big attractions like St Michael’s Mount (20 minutes), Land’s End (35 minutes) and the Minack Theatre (45 minutes), or take the kids to Paradise Park and JungleBarn Cornwall (10 minutes) and the Cornish Seal Sanctuary (35 minutes).
