General

  • Manicured pitches surrounded by greenery
  • Spotless amenities including power showers and wetsuit/drying area
  • Playground and dog-walking area

Small but perfectly formed, the Laurels Holiday Park offers manicured grassy pitches surrounded by pretty greenery and flowers to give guests a bit of extra privacy.

The essential facilities are impeccably maintained: there’s free hot water in the washing up area and power showers, plus hairdryers, a laundry with tumble dryer and free ironing kit, and a shared fridge and freezer. There’s even a special area for washing and drying wetsuits, which gets regular use given the excellent surfing and watersports nearby...

The Laurels has a small on-site shop stocking the essentials, ice creams, sweets and drinks. Sausages, bacon and eggs from the local butcher are stocked in peak season, and fresh bread, pastries and scones are delivered daily from a local bakery.

Pint-sized visitors can mess about on the boat in the playground, which is well-equipped with climbing frames, swings and a large trampoline, plus plenty of space for ball games. The site is also Fido-friendly, with a dedicated area for dogwalking.

Please note

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Bookings can only be accepted from families or couples where the named hirer is over 21 and is part of the holiday party.

Campfires must be in a self-contained firepit raised off the ground and a safe distance away from tents, caravans and awnings etc

    Very clean toilets and showers.
    Power showers.
Use of a fridge & microwave.
    Excellent play park.
    Small well kept site.
Free Wifi - which worked perfectly!
This is probably the best campsite I've ever been to, my children absolutely loved the play park which has a trampoline and a boat as well as the usual swings and climbing frame. Everything was spotless and very well organised. When you arrive there's a board telling you which pitch you're on, which is such a great idea, after a long journey the last thing you want is a long check in.
You can also place orders for bread etc to be delivered from a bakery in Padstow the following morning, we didn't do it this time as we were only here for a couple of nights, but definitely will next time.
We are already planning to come back next summer for longer, glad we found this amazing little site.

    Disliked:

    Nothing.

From the manager...

Thankyou Green family - this has made our day!
You will definitely have to return for a few more nights next time and sample some of The Chough Bakery goodies!
We look forward to welcoming you back.

The size of pitch was great for my 5 berth tent, table and chairs etc plus my 7 seater vehicle.
Staff are very friendly and approachable and introduced themselves on arrival to let us know location of facilities.
Park is kept very tidy and clean.
My children had a great time within the playpark .
Despite initial reservations about there not being a clubhouse on site my children had plenty to do and made some friends.

    Disliked:

    Not staying longer

Great staff, clean & tidy site with level pitches. 01/09/2018

Reviewer's country: United Kingdom Jayne E. Confirmed

  • Electric gravel touring pitch

  • Liked:

Very clean & tidy & well kept site. Staff were really friendly & helpful. We stayed on a motorhome gravel pitch which was level & had manicured hedges either side to provide a bit of privacy - perfect. The site is on a bus route & the bus stop us just outside the camp so it's only a 10 minute ride into Wadebridge which has shops, pubs & places to eat. The Ship Inn is recommended for dinner, but book early to avoid to disappointment.

    Disliked:

Only 2 showers in the female shower block so had to wait a while however the shower was great, hot water & high pressure!

From the manager...

Thankyou Jayne! We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay and have given some great info for other potential guests.
We hope to see you again.

We look forward to welcoming you back and also owe you change for the extra night - only a pound but every pound counts so get in touch with us to book and we will amend the cost.
Hope to see you all soon,

Hi Simon Blow,
This was disappointing to wake up to this morning. We get AA and Bh&HPA inspected every year and do have enough showers for the size of our very small site.

Local attractions

The Laurels is two miles from the riverside market town of Wadebridge (the bus stops right outside the site), where guests will find good eating and shopping.

A little further up the road is Padstow, which has TV chef Rick Stein’s famously fabulous seafood restaurants and cookery school as well as some fine surfing beaches. Boardmasters can also find ripping fun at nearby Polzeath, and the world famous waves of Newquay are only 15 miles away.

Fans of the Doc Martin TV series should visit the nearby fishing village of Port Isaac to see the doc’s cottage and many other pretty 'Portwenn' locations.

This being Cornwall, there are oodles of interesting things to see and do - too many to list here, but to start you off: it’s only a short drive to the legendary Tintagel Castle, the fascinating biospheres of the Eden Project, or the fishing village of Boscastle.

Guests could also make a day trip to Lands End (perhaps combined with a walk around the attractive harbour town of Penzance), to the National Maritime Museum and dockyards at Falmouth, or to St. Ives, to explore the colourful harbour and art deco splendour of the Tate Gallery.

Must see

  • Cornwall's Crealy Great Adventure Park (2.5 miles)
  • Rock Beach (3.5 miles)
  • Newquay Zoo (10.7 miles)
