  • Eight-acre site on a family-run farm 15 minutes' drive from Truro
  • Less than 10 minutes' drive to Perranporth beach; 15 mins to Newquay
  • Popular cider farm and ice cream parlour within walking distance
Coming to Cornwall for the coast, the countryside or the cream teas? How about a bit of all three (and with a refreshing pint of cider thrown in for good measure too)? Lambriggan Valley, on a family-run farm down a quiet country lane in Penhallow and 15 minutes’ drive from Truro, is a handy spot for mixing up cracking scenery with good eats and drinks. To the coast for starters – it’s less than 10 minutes’ drive from the farm to the sweeping sands of family-friendly Perranporth beach and walks on the South West Coast Path. And for the countryside aspect, there are plenty of local footpaths to stroll along around the farm or from neighbouring villages. Heading further afield should be easy too, as the farm’s handily situated for the A3075 and five minutes from the A30. And the food and drink? For that you’ll want to start at Healey’s Cyder Farm (15 minutes on foot; possibly longer on the way back…) for scrumpy, wines, juices and other local produce. It’s also got a fab restaurant (with the all-important cream teas), tractor rides and farm animals to meet. Sweet-toothed visitors may like to walk a few minutes more to reach Callestick Ice Cream Parlour, to meet farm animals and see the ice cream being produced (and eat the ice cream, of course). Back on site, it’s a simple setup with just portable toilets and running water on the facilities front, and eight acres of slightly sloping field allowing plenty of space for playing games or lighting barbecues. Local shops are within 10 minutes' drive, and the folk on site are happy to recommend pubs, restaurants or ideas for days out.

From the manager: Hi Claire I’m sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Within the listing it very clearly states the campsite is a field with portable toilets & water. I appreciate that may not have been enough for you but you know that when you booked. Also please can I ask what you mean by ‘something didn’t feel right’? That’s a very odd & damaging comment to make. Many thanks Jess

Great little break close by to everywhere…
