  • Small, peaceful site in a valley 35 minutes’ walk from Loe Beach
  • A 20-minute drive from Falmouth and 40 minutes from the Eden Project
  • Fresh chicken and duck eggs available; pub a short walk away
It’s no secret – if you’re crazy about watersports, coastal walks and country pubs, Cornwall takes one of the top spots… and where better to base yourself than a small, peaceful and centrally-located site in a gorgeous valley 10 minutes’ drive from Truro? That’s what you get at Come to Good Farm… When you want to track down tasty Cornish fodder, all you have to do is walk 10 minutes to the local tea room or pub. A fine stretch of sand and watersports? Loe beach is also within walking distance – 35 minutes’ walk, to be precise. There are other walks to the Fal river creeks, which only take 10 minutes or so, making a splendid morning or after-dinner stroll. It doesn’t matter if you’ve already been scrambling to circle beaches and attractions across the north, south and west coasts of Cornwall – Come to Good Farm is 35 minutes’ drive from The Lizard Heritage Coast, 40 minutes from St Ives and 25 minutes from surfing at Porthtowan beach and hikes up over St Agnes Head on the north coast. Back down at your newly-appointed base, feel free to rinse away any sand in the site’s well-maintained shower and toilet block. You’re very welcome to get your hands on the fresh chicken and duck eggs that are available to purchase daily too.

Local attractions

When you’ve had your fill of investigating all the plants and wildlife that call Cornwall their home, you might find that there are plants that you haven’t yet encountered in the Eden Project (40 minutes’ drive). With Mediterranean and rainforest biomes, as well zipwires for the thrill-seeking sort to survey the domes from above, this is a top spot for wildlife and adventure sport fans. There’s more pretty cool plant life around The Lost Gardens Heligan (35 minutes) and the National Trust’s Trelissick Garden (35 minutes), of course. When you’re ready to tackle footpaths past woods, beaches and castles, The Roseland Heritage Coast (35 minutes) is also your oyster. If all the sea views have you craving more of it up close, Falmouth (20 minutes) has plenty in the way of water activities, including diving and fishing trips. There’s a surf school in St Ives (40 minutes) if you fancy sharpening up your board skills, as well as schools for painting, inspired by the many galleries there. You might find inspiration for your painting among the stained glass windows and tall spires of Truro Cathedral (10 minutes).
