  • 14 acres of greenery a short distance from the north Cornish coast
  • A 15-minute drive from Portreath beach and half an hour from St Ives
  • Indoor pool (high season only), games room and dog exercise paddock
Wake up to an unruffled vista of gentle hills and cobalt seas at Lanyon Holiday Park, which offers 14 acres of generously proportioned grass pitches. Site facilities are great: you can wallow for hours – free of charge, between April and September – in the toasty indoor swimming pool; the games room is open all day for TV, pool and video games; the kids can bounce themselves silly on the sizeable trampoline in the play park; and they’ve even thought of the dog, with a roomy exercise paddock for campsite canines (although there are no end of gorgeous walks in the countryside surrounding Lanyon, too). There’s no need to stress about the essentials, either. It’s all here: fridges and freezers, ample free hot water everywhere on site, hairdryers to keep your barnet looking tiptop, and oodles of washing machines, rotary and tumble dryers, and a free ironing kit.

What customers say

This is a well-maintained and clean holiday park with spacious, private pitches and friendly staff. Guests praise the heated indoor swimming pool, children's play area, and the convenient location for exploring Cornwall. While most facilities are well-kept, some comments suggest the showers could benefit from updating. A shop on-site is wished for by some, though local amenities are accessible.

Silver non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Very friendly staff, large pitch which was well marked out. Good facilities and plenty of hot water for a shower. I enjoyed watching the mist roll in in the evening, the site is high in altitude with a super view(depending on which part you stay in)Would definitely stay again.

Silver non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Fantastic camping, very well organised and low price. We arrived late, but the arrival card was left in the reception with the surname, camping map and pitch number. Pitches for tents have clear boundaries and you get allocated decent size pitch. WC and other facilities are short distance even from the last pitch on the lane. I was surprised to find a kettle an microwave in the washing area.

Gold electric gravel touring pitch

Liked The site is very well set out with each set of campers having their own large space to set up. I really liked the camp areas being separated by hedges to provide privacy - this is something I haven't seen before. Barry was very helpful throughout our stay and he is friendly and kind and made our stay easier.
I was a little concerned about the toilet blocks on arrival after reading some of the negative reviews, however, the toilet blocks were clean and in good condition. The showers were hot and stayed on as long as you wanted them to. The swimming pool and playground were good and our children enjoyed playing in both. Would return to this site in the future.

Disliked The monkey bars could do with freshening up.

Gold electric grass pitch

Liked The site looked really pretty with big beautiful flowering bushes and a stunning fish pond, the whole site was really well maintained and cared for.
Lots of facilities very close by wherever your pitch was. Our view over the hills was beautiful, we saw several deer roaming around.
The site was sooo peaceful, waking up to the sound of nature was so relaxing and everyone was respectful of keeping the noise level down at night.
There is a lovely pub a short walk up the road with very friendly staff and locals and delicious food.
The site is central to lots of things to do around Cornwall.

Disliked My husband said to mention that the WiFi/ signal wasn't good but l said the whole point of going camping is to get away from tech so l don't see that as a dislike!!!!

Silver non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked What a lovely campsite. Very clean, cute little pool, nice little play area for the kids to play in, nice little touches around the campsite. Will 100% be going back.

Only Marking customer service middle as got there past reception closing time and didn’t actually get to see anyone but answered the call straight away and my booking form was ready for me to collect with easy instructions.

Local attractions

Leaving Lanyon, it will take a mere 10 minutes in your trusty automobile to arrive at acres of golden sand. Surfers will think they have dived and gone to heaven: Portreath, on the doorstep, is not to be sneezed at, but a few miles further they’ll find arguably the best surfing in Britain, on the beaches of Newquay. Art lovers will enjoy a trip to the Tate at St Ives, followed by a meander through the narrow streets that pack the hillside behind the sweep of the bay. Also within a short drive are the biospheres of the Eden Project and the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth. Travel a little further and you can make throngs of finny friends at the aquarium in Plymouth.
