Fox farm motorhome park
Spacious gravel plots for motorhomes
Touring in the south west of england

  • Tiny pet-friendly site in the grounds of a quiet Cornish farm
  • A mile and a half from Penzance; Marazion 10 minutes' drive
  • Farm produce, water supply, recycling points and waste disposal
For somewhere to stop while wending your way westwards to the end of Cornwall, try Fox Farm Motorhome Park, a well-maintained, intimate site set in the grounds of a small farm a mile and a half from Penzance town centre. It won't take you long to get out and see the local wildlife here – this site is located on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty on the sparsely populated Penwith Peninsula. This Cornish spot has a very small number of secluded pitches, all of which are spacious and level. Amenities at this low-key spot include practical features like a water supply via a spring borehole, recycling points and chemical disposal facilities. There's also a small on-site farm shop where you can pick up fresh local fruit and vegetables. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but please keep them on leads, as this is a working farm. Open barbecues are allowed too, but the owners would appreciate it if quiet hours could be respected after 10pm. This site feels peaceful and out of the way but is easily accessible from the main road, which can get you down into Penzance with roughly a five-minute drive. There are several beaches here (including a fair number of dog-friendly options), as well as a railway station, bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

Liked: Location close to Penzance and the nearby woodland walks. A small site, only 4 pitches in the area we were in. Fairly basic facilities but this was what we wanted.

Liked: The landscaping between pitches are lovely, creates a great sense of calm. Friendly owner and Elsa, water and EHU all easy.

Disliked: I left early and wanted to empty my Elsan but there was a tractor on it!! It did make me laugh. Proper working farm!

Liked: Fox Farm was a perfect wee stay for us Digital Nomads. Lovely spot at the top of the hill that we had all to ourselves. Very peaceful stay with an amazing view of Michaels Mount through the trees. Fab location to set up and explore that beauty of Cornwall, only 20mins drive (either way) to beaches, lands end and other beautiful spots. Simple, no frills site with a basic bathroom giving all that one needs. Lovely owner, delish strawberries, would defo recommend if you are seeking a low key, off the beaten track stay in Cornwall. We are travelling with Starlink and found it was a bit patchy at times, but this is the price for being in such a beautiful, treelined spot. Plus, was still able to get through the online work days :)

Liked: Very small site with just 4 pitches. Nice rustic charm. The toilet and shower although a bit rustic were perfectly clean and the shower worked well. Hook up was good too. 1 1/2 mile walk to Penzance. (all down hill). Nice selection of fresh veg for sale from the owner who was very friendly and helpful x

Liked: Lawrence was the most welcoming, caring and accommodating host ever… This isn’t a bad review! HOWEVER I would point out that they is some maintenance required. I would say this is PERFECT for day vans/campers that are used to wild camping. They is one toilet and shower on site. It is immaculate, cleaned regularly. As they is only a handful of pitches and people need to be respectful and mindful of cleaning up after themselves..

Disliked: A little far out for me, that’s no one else’s fault than us not researching the area

Local attractions

Drive 10 minutes down the road to Marazion to see the iconic St Michael's Mount and to explore two sandy beaches, or walk there from Penzance (two miles) along an almost entirely level traffic-free path. Other local outdoor attractions you won't want to miss include the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (10 minutes' drive), where modern art meets panoramas over the sea, and The Minack Theatre (25 minutes), an open-air events space with regular shows in a spectacular clifftop setting. Finding yourself in St Ives (20 minutes) is another popular option, as this artsy north coast town is home to a Tate art gallery, a pottery centre and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. For something a bit grittier (although without leaving behind the fantastic scenery), there's also the Geevor Tin Mine (20 minutes), where you can discover three centuries of Cornish industrial heritage. Hopping back over to the south coast, you're also within day-tripping distance of Falmouth and King Henry VIII's Pendennis Castle (50 minutes), while just driving west will take you straight to the Land's End Landmark Attraction (25 minutes) where you can look out over the Atlantic.
