Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked We absolutely love this campsite and have stayed on 3 separate occasions. The family who own the site are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The site is clean and very well maintained with a small shop, coffee cart and food truck for an evening. We love that it is a small family run site close to Padstow. We will definitely return next year!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Everything! Toilet and shower facilities were good and well kept. On site food truck serves delicious pizzas, wraps, loaded fries and more! There is another that serves tea, coffee etc. Small shop with necessities well stocked, freezers and phone chargers. Ice packs to rent if needed. A lovely welcome on arrival and told everything about the site. Has an enclosed dog walking field adjacent to the campsite which can be hired up to 8.30pm at night which we thought would be so handy for dog owners! 🐶

Disliked Not really a dislike as didn’t really bother us, but the site is on a hill so you are on a slope further down the field but like I said it wasn’t an issue for us at all!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The host was amazing - so lovely and helpful, and really looked after our two little ones. The number of showers were just right for the site, and all the facilities were kept clean and available. The Pizza Hut was extremely popular, fresh coffee in the morning from the horse box cafe was a lovely touch, and we couldn’t have asked for much more!

Disliked Wi-Fi was poor signal due to large numbers of users over the weekend, but do you honestly go camping for Wi-Fi?!?

The field has got a steep gradient so we tried to stay near the top end, which a lot of others also did. There are no set pitch sites on the field so it was a free for all, something we were shocked about when we woke up on Saturday morning to find lots of new campers that had surrounded our tent and car! We got out eventually to travel to the beach! One suggestion I would make would be to mark out the “driving lanes” on the field, to allow safe movement each day.

These are such small considerations; we were very pleased with our stay and could not have been looked after better by the owner and her daughter.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Exceptional hospitality and a wonderfully flexible camping experience. We felt incredibly welcome with our family and our dogs.
Unlike many other campgrounds that are overloaded with strict rules, this place offers a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. A highlight was the option to rent a fire pit it was absolutely marvelous!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked I recently stayed at Padstow View Campsite, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The campsite is beautifully situated with stunning views over the surrounding countryside and down towards the coast. The location is ideal, just a short drive from the charming town of Padstow, which offers plenty of shops, restaurants, and activities.

The facilities at the campsite were excellent. The shower and toilet blocks were spotless and well-maintained, with plenty of hot water and spacious, clean cubicles. There were also convenient washing-up areas and a small shop on-site for any essentials you might need. A little Pizza place on-site also offers food for the evening.

Very welcoming arrival as always! Friendly staff always willing to help.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked For a pop-up site, this place is just astonishing good. The facilities are incredibly clean, the coffee trailer in the morning and the pizza bar in the evening, we'll thought through. The friendliness of the people running it, is there in spades and the relaxed approach is refreshing.

Disliked Very little to dislike. If I had to be very picky, there is some road noise but the positives totally outweigh that!

Found it very difficult to find a student friendly campsite that wasn't party-based. This campsite was perfect for us, and families alike, despite the rain.

Local attractions

Don’t forget to pack your walking gear… the 18-mile Camel Trail begins in Padstow or Wadebridge (both within 10 minutes’ drive) and there are trails all over the local heritage coast (several within 15 minutes) or a different type of adventure underground at Carnglaze Caverns (40 minutes). The sea is your playground here, too. Boats wait at Padstow Harbour (five minutes) to whisk you out to sea for angling or wildlife spotting… keep your eyes peeled for seals, dolphins, puffins and basking sharks. A ferry can also take you across the river to Rock (otherwise 25 minutes’ drive) for a laidback afternoon. Kids are likely to enjoy the steam railway ride at Lappa Valley (25 minutes) or the animals and rides at Camel Creek Adventure Park (five minutes). As for adults, they can unwind with a meal or wine tasting at Trevibban Mill Vineyard or take a gin tour at Tarquins distillery (both five minutes away). Upgrade from a bodyboard to a surfboard at one of several surfing spots in the area. For newbies, there’s a surf school at Harlyn Bay (10 minutes) or more daring swells at Newquay (20 minutes) and Fistral Beach (30 minutes).
