  • Family-friendly Cornish holiday park on Trevose Head
  • A 15 minute-drive from Padstow and half an hour from Newquay
  • Diner, bar and entertainment on site; sandy beaches 20 minutes' walk
With its lighthouse, stunning coastal walks and gorgeous sandy beaches, Trevose Head is something like the Cornish coast in miniature. If you're looking for seaside capers in this area with your nearest and dearest, Harlyn Sands Holiday Park could well be the place. Those coastal strolls and sandy beaches are within walking distance of this park, making it a top-notch spot for a seaside break. The site is family-run and works hard to be a welcoming spot for you and your tribe. Younger kids are well served here, as there's a play area, TV and games rooms and kids' club to keep them happily occupied. In the evening, there are special events for all to enjoy (and a bar is on hand for mums and dads who fancy a nightcap after the show). Harlyn Sands is also a handy kind of place: there's a food shop on site should you need to stock up on essentials. Barbecues are allowed for alfresco dining, but you may prefer to skip the cooking and head to The Diner for a sit-down meal, or pick up a takeaway from the site's chippy. If you need a supermarket, take a 15-minute drive down the road to Padstow. The site makes no secret of the fact that it caters mostly to families (furry friends included), so teens need to be mindful that they don't stay out too late or disturb the peace.

What customers say

Harlyn Sands Holiday Park boasts a fantastic location, just a short walk from beautiful beaches, and is praised for its friendly and helpful staff. Families particularly enjoyed the excellent entertainment and on-site amenities. While many found the facilities clean and well-maintained, some noted that they could be dated and overcrowded during peak times. Shower facilities and the cost of the swimming pool were highlighted as areas for improvement by some visitors.

Disliked Paying for showers 20p although during our stay it was free being trialled due to long queues

Electric grass pitch

Liked Book able last minute, perfect for families, we had a great size pitch, everything was easily accessible. Perfect access to a lovely beach, great accessibility throughout the grounds. Great pool and shop along with amusements. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful.

Disliked Although perfect showers and incredibly grateful for them to be a free amenity, however the ques were quite long throughout the day, even in the early mornings. Perhaps another accessible chemical dispenser.

Liked As a family we Loved this campsite and would definitely book again! Staff were super friendly and attentive on keeping the toilet and bathroom area clean, they were there regularly from early to late!
Nice kept pitches and spacious very child friendly. Bank Holiday and half term busy and everyone was respectful with noise and what not, it really was a pleasant and calm site, security does his walk round every so often which was reassuring and he was super friendly.

Great facilities and 10 minute walk to a gorgeous beach was just perfect!

Highly recommend and would definitely return!

The WiFi wasn't great in busy periods but not all that bad

Disliked The only thing I would say we disliked was the fact it was a dog friendly site but wasn't able to take our dog into entertainment or arcades which was rubbish for the kids (saved us money though), it wouldn't stop us from booking again.

Local attractions

Folk in search of some beach time have come to the right spot, as Harlyn Bay and Constantine Bay can both be reached within 20 minutes on foot. Guarded by the RNLI between May and September, these splendid stretches of sand are hubs for snorkellers and swimmers, and each has its own surf school – mighty handy if you want to learn to board in a safe environment. Padstow (15 minutes' drive) is a fishing town that's quite a draw for foodies seeking fresh, locally sourced products. Whether you fancy good old fish and chips or Michelin-starred dining, you can be pretty sure you'll find it here. Newquay, a major surf resort, is half an hour away. As well as the seafront, head here for buccaneering adventures at Pirate's Quest activity centre, or get up close and personal with marine life at the Blue Reef Aquarium. Just up the coast from Newquay (40 minutes from base) is Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm, home to both fine scrumpy and cute cuddly farm animals. The South Cornwall coast is also within easy reach: drive 40 minutes down through the countryside if you fancy a trip to the Eden Project or St Austell.
