  • Family-friendly park 10 minutes' drive from Newquay
  • Covering 56 acres including a dedicated dog area
  • Pool, play zones, clubhouse and fish and chip takeaway
There’ll be plenty of time for monkey business in this family-friendly site… Surrounded by a whopping 56 acres of countryside and a fab place for taking toddlers, Monkey Tree Holiday Park is 10 minutes from Perranporth and its huge open beach, as well as the lively surf centre of Newquay. As you might already (luckily) know, the north coast of Cornwall is tiptop for beaches – Newquay's famed for its world-class waves and heady nightlife, while Perranporth has kayaking and hovercrafting to get adventurously stuck into, and top-notch coastal walks on either side of the beach. Back at base, catch a few pages of your book while the kids splash about in the outdoor heated pool complex… or while they join in with the packed entertainment schedule for juniors (there's a talented in-house entertainment team on hand with a daily kids' club and Funky Monkey putting in a regular appearance). On top of that, a maze of net walkways, slides and ball pools means that younger guests will have plenty to keep them entertained, whatever the weather. Food's sorted with the on-site clubhouse and restaurant, and fish and chip takeaway (fish and chips + seaside = essential). Or fire up the barbecue instead: hit up the camp store for the essentials, or head to the grocery store 10 minutes away.

What customers say

This holiday park is highly rated by families for its cleanliness, excellent facilities, and abundant activities for children. Guests praised the spacious pitches, friendly staff, and the lively entertainment. The swimming pool was a particular highlight. While most visitors had a positive experience, some noted issues with Wi-Fi connectivity, occasional noise, and the booking system for the pool. Electric grass pitch

Liked - The swimming pool
- The parks

Disliked - The loose grass in the pitch, I understand that there is a reason for this but it makes everything really messy
- The amount of grass on the toilet floors due to the loose grass in the pitch
- Some toilets weren’t regularly cleaned, so I went to different ones
- Washing up area wasn’t regularly cleaned, and people didn’t clean up after themselves
- We stayed and paid a lot of money to be able to use the pool facilities, we could only use it once. We have to wire for 40 minutes in the baking sun to then only have half an hour in the pool.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Good range of facilities for kids.
Clean and well maintained.
Staff friendly.
Spacious pitches.

Disliked Noise level across the site high.
Rowdy groups of adults screaming and swearing at there children whilst getting increasingly drunk.
Reception staff quickly dismissed queries on phone before arrival, one being about the noise levels as it was almost warned in the pre arrival email but when asked if perhaps we should look for a quieter area were quickly just told we would be fine, in fact it was very noisy and our children stuggled to sleep.

Electric grass pitch (large)

Liked Great facilities, great pitches (I’m sure we had a premium hard standing) and great location not far from beaches and town.

Disliked Map indicates ’scoop ice cream’ but staff had no idea where the ice cream shop was. So I had disappointed kids.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely, clean pitches with hedges between which made it feel more private. Facilities were always very clean and working well. Plenty of toilets and showers in case some were in use. Showers are push to use, which I liked as we have had to pay for showers separately at other sites. The onsite shop is well stocked and reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Most recommended things for us to do and stopped to talk to us. We had a noisy neighbour (absolutely no fault of the site itself) and security came to deal with them when it was passed the noise curfew. Was in general a very quiet site. The security made us feel very safe, always present at the entrance at night. Barriers at the entrance to stop people from coming in. Close location to most places we wanted to visit, around 10 minutes to Newquay centre. The pool area was very clean. We would definitely visit again. We would like to come back in season to eat at the restaurant etc. We just used our mobile data so can’t comment on the WiFi. Is located just off a road and we were pitched near the front but was not bothered by any traffic sounds etc.

Disliked It is advertised as a heated pool but we had some very cold swims. Didn’t put us off using it again but just a note.
It was made very clear to us that onsite activities and services would be running at a lower capacity due to being off season. We had absolutely no problem with this, it was just that staff didn’t seem to be able to tell us when things were happening. Again, no problem with things being closed as we chose to come when it would be quieter, there just seemed to be some confusion amongst staff. We understood that the pool couldn’t be predicted due to weather, it’s just when we asked when other things were open, most staff said they were unsure.
The toilet block for our section was not open but there were no signs and no one told us on arrival. It didn’t affect our stay as the open toilets were actually closer. However, would have been nice for staff to tell us there was only one block open to avoid the confusion.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch (premium)

Liked The pitch was a amazing size and the staff at the reception were friendly and welcoming.
There is a park and a football court there for families with young children to do .

Disliked The golf course is closed for most of the day and seems very expensive if you want to play on it.
The chippy was not open, so we couldn't get any tea for our first night there.
Also, there wasn't any communication to say that you could have bought food at the venue, nor did we see any menu to see what was on offer. I think there should be a menu list and prices on the outside of the building on a wall for us to see, or more information about it in the leaflet.

As for the schedule, there is no time listed for when the main event starts.

Also, the speakers in the venue are so loud they vibrate through you.
The microphone was overpowering.

I also noticed that there was a rule about no dogs after 6 pm, but there were dogs in the venue way after that time, which means the rules are not kept.v

Electric grass pitch

Liked Great reception welcome by Jack or could've been Jake not sure but anyway brilliant service.
Great pitches and amenities.
Lovely chips!

Disliked A few things closed
Shop was a bit pricey ( £2.75 for half a loaf of bread is extortionate sorry)
No supervision in play barn area...there was 2 older boys we had to tell politely not to climb up the safety netting.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Pool area and chippy was lovely 😍.
Very busy site and packed in like sardines!
Grounds are well maintained and toilet and showers clean but again still not big enough for the sheer amount of people in busy school holidays.

Disliked Clubhouse far to small for the size of the site and sheer amount of people in busy holiday periods.
Pitches are very close and extremely noisy .

Local attractions

Cornwall’s coastline and beaches are pretty much legendary, but Newquay (10 minutes) is world-famed for its surf and nightlife too. It’s a party town from daybreak until well after dark and the surf's so good they hold international competitions here – check out Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay. Perranporth (10 minutes) is the place to head for a more relaxed beach day, though it’s very popular so best to get your towel down early. The beach here is a fab spot for dog walking, rolling up the trousers for a paddle or lazing around and copping a look at the views. The Eden Project (35 minutes) has the UK’s most realistic rainforest, full of rare plant species and exotic butterflies, as well as a pretty nifty Mediterranean biome. Daredevils can also have a go on England’s longest zipwires here.
