  • Peaceful and private adults-only park in a secluded Cornish valley
  • The Eden Project 10 minutes’ drive; Bodmin Moor half an hour
  • Pitches in wooded paddocks, games room and spotless amenities
Sometimes all you want is peace and quiet. Yes, even if you’re going to Cornwall and thousands of other holidaymakers have evidently had the same idea at the same time. But peace is possible among the madding crowds, as can be seen with a trip to Lanlivery’s Eden Valley Holiday Park, a secluded site in a Cornish valley surrounded by trees and rhododendron bushes. And when you’re ready to brave the throngs, the park is handy for the highlights of Cornwall – including the famous Eden Project a few miles away. Eden Valley is geared towards adults who aren’t into noisy clubhouses or flashy evening entertainment. It’s a peaceful place set up to be as private as possible, with a select number of pitches in each linked wooded paddock. For the young at heart, or if you’re feeling competitive? Try the games area with its pool table or table tennis. Amenities are kept to a spotless standard by Darren, Ginny and the team, and include a shower block with roomy cubicles each with their own toilet, sink and power shower. A launderette is also on site along with separate areas for washing up and vegetable prep. All in all, a little peace of paradise…

What customers say

This adults-only campsite is consistently praised for its immaculate cleanliness, peaceful atmosphere, and friendly, helpful staff. Guests highlight the excellent, spotless facilities, including spacious shower rooms and well-maintained pitches. Its location is considered convenient for exploring local attractions. Some visitors noted occasional issues with Wi-Fi and phone signal, and one reviewer found the approach roads narrow, though this is generally not a common complaint.

Electric gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Nice, clean facilities
Quiet with great dog exercise area

Disliked Unfortunately our one night away to join friends on their camping trip turned into a bit of a nightmare. We are two couples in our 40’s and 50’s - all professionals and just wanted a relaxed evening with some food, a few drinks and some quiet, background music. We were hunted down by fellow resident campers who told us to put out our bbq due to the recent government announcement, which we highlighted that in fact had not banned bbqs, only disposable bbqs. We had an off the floor small bbq on gravel and feel that these people who approached us in an aggressive manner was completely uncalled for. They then told us to keep the noise down, it was 19:30, we then felt that we couldn’t enjoy any more of our evening so turned the music off and went to bed. Although this campsite seems lovely on the face of it, there are a lot of rules and we did feel we were being watched and couldn’t really relax or switch off.
We don’t live in a dictatorship and we are happy to accept that rules have to be in place, however, this site seems extreme and we renamed R&R - rules and regulations, not rest and relaxation.
Safe to say we won’t be returning and not sure we would be welcome anyway as were made to feel like trouble makers when all we wanted to do was have a relaxed night away without being watched or judged!
There appear to be a number of resident campers that either live here or spend a lot of time here, they don’t seem to like outsiders or anyone that might like to enjoy themselves a bit.
The owner dealt with this amicably and respectfully so it is a shame to leave a bad review, we did highlight that no communication was sent out prior to our stay stating that bbq’s were not allowed so to turn up with a lot of food and potentially not being able to eat wouldn’t have been great!

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We are sorry that your stay did not provide the relaxed evening you had hoped for, and appreciate that you have acknowledged that we dealt with the situation amicably and respectfully.
We would, however, like to clarify a few points for the benefit of future guests. We do have rules around BBQs, noise and considerate behaviour, particularly during periods of heightened fire risk. These rules are there to protect our guests, the site and the surrounding countryside, and we ask everyone to follow them for their own safety and for the enjoyment and safety of others.
We are a quiet site, but that certainly does not mean that nobody enjoys their time here. The majority of our guests, whether seasonal or staying for a night or two, enjoy the tranquillity of the site, as well as the friendships and sense of community that can develop here. We appreciate, however, that different people look for different experiences from a holiday, and there are many wonderful sites in Cornwall offering a range of atmospheres to suit everyone.
We are also sorry that you felt uncomfortable after being approached by other guests staying on seasonal pitches. We certainly do not want anyone to feel watched, judged or unwelcome, and it is disappointing to hear that this was your experience. Our expectation is that any concerns about another guest’s behaviour are raised with us, the owners, rather than guests confronting one another directly. On this occasion, however, we understand that the height of the flames may have caused concern amongst other guests, particularly given the exceptionally dry conditions we have been experiencing.
We do take the current fire risk extremely seriously. The last few months have been exceptionally dry and hot, and we have all seen how quickly a fire can spread. We are therefore asking everyone to be particularly careful with naked flames and to consider the surrounding environment, as well as following the guidance being widely communicated regarding fires, BBQs and discarded cigarettes.
We do, however, take on board your comment about communicating our BBQ guidance more clearly before arrival. We will review how this information is provided to guests so that expectations are as clear as possible before they arrive.
We are pleased that, despite your frustrations, you recognised that we handled the situation respectfully. It is a shame that your overall experience was not a positive one, but we appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best for your future holidays.
Regards
Ginny

Electric gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked This is a very well maintained site, cleanliness is excellent with all provisions provided for your stay. Very peaceful, very quiet surroundings.

Disliked We were on pitch (58) The pitch itself was lovely with a small Brooke running behind it.. The pitch next to us in the corner seemed to be a seasonal pitch? And the occupier of that pitch seemed to think he owned his pitch and everyone around him. So decided to park his car infront of our grass area where we were sitting under our canopy. Plus infront of us on the middle grass area a large tent was pitched the occupiers thought it was ok to park their car on the access road infront of us, making it difficult to park our car on our pitch. Surely this is unacceptable and pitches need to be marked out better as to where you can and cannot park your car!!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. I’m sorry to hear that the parking situation affected your stay with us.
The seasonal pitch next to you is aware of the boundaries of their pitch, and there was space available for the tent occupants to park their car. However, we appreciate that having vehicles parked around your pitch may have made you feel less comfortable and relaxed during your stay.
Had we been made aware of the situation at the time, we would have been more than happy to come and take a look and resolve any issues straight away. We are always available to listen and help with any concerns that arise during your stay, so please don’t hesitate to come and have a chat with us.
Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope you will consider staying with us again in the future.

Local attractions

Two of Cornwall’s major attractions are within a quick drive – The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan – but a recommended start is staying local and heading over the hill a mile-and-a-half away to the ancient town of Lostwithiel, set in the Fowey river valley. After going local, go either north or south: north will take you to Bodmin Moor (half an hour’ drive), home of the fabled beast and the place of legend, tors and Brown Willy, and to the National Trust’s country house Lanhydrock (10 minutes) with sculptures, woodland trails, adventure playground and lavish gardens. Or head to Padstow, Newquay and Tintagel (all aroud 45 minutes) for seafood, surfing and swashbuckling tales of King Arthur; the Camel Trail runs near Padstow for horse riding, cycling and walking. Going south, more biking and walking is along the China Clay Trail, along with digging into history at St Austell’s China Clay Country Park (20 minutes). The town of Looe is within half an hour along the coast for fishing, shark spotting and a 12-mile walk to Fowey along the South West Coast Path if you’re feeling so inclined.
