Eden Valley Holiday Park: One of the paddocks

General

  • Peaceful and private park in a Cornish valley
  • A few miles from the Eden Project
  • Adventure playground, games room and spotless amenities

Sometimes all you want is peace and quiet. Yes, even if you’re going to Cornwall and thousands of other holidaymakers have evidently had the same idea at the same time.

But peace is possible among the madding crowds, as can be seen with a trip to Lanlivery’s Eden Valley Holiday Park, a secluded site in a Cornish valley surrounded by trees and rhododendron bushes. And when you’re ready to brave the throngs, the park is handy for the highlights of Cornwall – including the famous Eden Project a few miles away.

As you might deduce, Eden Valley is geared towards families and those who aren’t into noisy clubhouses or flashy evening entertainment. It’s a peaceful place set up to be as private as possible, with a select number of pitches in each linked wooded paddock (there’s also a dog-walking paddock so even family friends can get a bit of peace).

Kids have a big playground on site with a woodland course, swings, bridges and a fort… just the place for extra privacy… And if you're feeling competitive? Try the indoor games room with its pool table and ping pong for family challenges.

Amenities are kept to a spotless standard by Darren, Ginny and the team, and include a shower block with roomy cubicles each with their own toilet, sink and power shower. A launderette is also on site along with separate areas for washing up and vegetable prep. All in all, a little peace of paradise…

Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award AA 5 pennants

Facilities were clean and tidy.06/21/2021

Owners were rude and unhelpful and when friends came to visit they were going to charge 60p each to use the facilities.

From the manager...

Hi I am very upset to read your review but we were expecting it unfortunately!! But in the interest of our loyal friendly customers I would like to explain what really happened.
Sometimes(thankfully rarely) we have visitors to our site who are not happy from the minute they arrive. We do our best to keep them happy by letting them change pitches, as in this case, where you were in the shade in the evening and wanted to be in the sun. It was a shame the following day was very cloudy but obviously we cannot control the weather! The friends that came had come to reception to ask if they could visit you, were very happy to pay but we kindly did not charge them as they were not staying long. Obviously with the current pandemic we are obliged by law to take names and phone numbers of everyone on site and we do have a strict policy of no more than 6 in a group visiting. However, when more visitors came and did not even bother to come to reception and drove their very noisy motorbike around the barrier and through the site, my husband quite rightly came to find out who they were. I cannot think of another park that would of allowed them to stay on site after they so rudely trespassed!!
Everyone that goes camping, touring etc pays to be on a site where they can use the facilities why should your visitors use it for free!!!
We hope you find a site to stay on that is more suitable for you and wish you well.
Regards.

It was fantastic, that's all I can say! We were meant to stay for 1 night and travel to a different location but because it's right in the center of all of the attractions we wanted to see and because we loved it so much there, we ended up booking for a whole week! Clean toilets, hot, modern showers. Space to wash your dishes, clothes. The campsite is beautiful and taken care of. It's also very quiet and everyone seams to be so friendly <3

We ended up staying an extra night instead of moving on to our next campsite because we all loved it so much. Highly recommend.

Local attractions

Three of Cornwall’s major attractions are within a quick drive – the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Crealy Great Adventure Park – but a recommended start is staying local and heading over the hill a mile and a half away to the ancient town of Lostwithiel, set in the Fowey river valley.

After going local, go either north or south: north will take you to Bodmin Moor, home of the fabled beast and the place of legend, tors and Brown Willy, and to the National Trust’s country house Lanhydrock with sculptures, woodland trails, adventure playground and lavish gardens. Or head to Padstow, Newquay and Tintagel for seafood, surfing and swashbuckling tales of King Arthur; the Camel Trail runs near Padstow for horse riding, cycling and walking.

Going south, more biking and walking is along the China Clay Trail, along with digging into history at St Austell’s China Clay Country Park. The town of Looe is within easy reach along the coast for fishing, shark spotting and a 12-mile walk to Fowey along the South West Coast Path if you’re feeling so inclined.
