What a smashing little site is West Kellow Yurts in Cornwall, ten minutes' drive from the lovely town of Looe and set on a hillside between Polperro and Lansallos. (Before you read any further, we suggest you look at the site pics.)

We're not sure which we're more in envious love of here: the splendid countryside and sea views (really, look at the site pics), or the thoughtful touches put into the yurts and bell tents placed on a nine-acre field of an organic farm.

Want your own hammock to sway gently in the Cornish breeze or look at the stars? Campfire tripod, Dutch oven, barbecue and kebab stewers on each pitch? Own personal picnic bench and outdoor seating area for communal banquets? Done, done and done.

Matt and team have set everything up here so guests can start seriously relaxing the minute they arrive: a welcome pack will await and the yurts have a mini kitchen equipped with gas burner and kettle for the first cuppa (the bell tent has a gas burner and there's also a well-equipped communal kitchen on site with gas hobs, fridge freezer, microwave, coffee room).

The communal kitchen is in the amenities block, which also has a luxury and modern wetroom with loos and hot showers.

Also on site, wanderers will find a most pretty wildlife pond – again, have a look at the site pics…

Terms and conditions

Please read the park terms and conditions below and the terms and conditions.

Additional terms

- Sorry, but early arrival cannot be accommodated due to cleaning purposes.

- We don’t have a staffed reception area and may not always be on site, so please contact us when you are on your way with your estimated time of arrival and we will be there to welcome you. If you are going to arrive late in the evening, you may be required to make your own way to your accommodation and in this event we will provide you with detailed instructions.

- Our car park only has a limited number of spaces, so please try to keep to one car per yurt booking. There is sometimes more parking available further away from the yurts, but we cannot guarantee this.

- Please do not wear outdoor shoes inside the yurt. Shoe racks will be provided.

- You are responsible for the cleaning and contents of your accommodation while you are with us including washing up, cleaning of barbecue grill, correct disposal of waste and recycling.

- We reserve the right to charge for breakages, loss and damages should they occur. We ask that you let us know if you are missing anything and inform us of any breakages prior to vacating your accommodation.

- The yurts are made from a breathable and waterproofed canvas, but in high winds and rain you may experience a small leak. West Kellow Yurts will try to prevent this but, due to the nature of camping and the materials used, we cannot guarantee it.

- West Kellow Yurts are located in a field that is mostly well drained apart from when extreme rainfall occurs. After heavy rainfall the ground may become wet, sludgy and slippery underfoot. Please make sure that you bring appropriate clothing and footwear to cope with these types of weather conditions.

- The field may be uneven in parts so please be careful when walking around the site, especially at night. At all times it is advisable to stick to the pathways and use a torch at night to avoid trip hazards. We cannot be held responsible if you injure yourself on the site due to your own negligence in this respect.

- In the past the field has been used for livestock and had a barn and fence in it. Therefore you may find the odd screw or nail in the grass or hedgerows. If you or your children are walking around barefoot, please be mindful of this. We cannot be held responsible for any injury sustained if you have not adhered to this warning. If you come across such material please dispose of it and alert us to the matter.

Peace and tranquillity

- We only have a small number of visitors at any one time, so please be considerate towards them. Anyone found to be causing a disturbance contrary to the peace of the yurts will be asked to leave immediately and without a refund.

Stolen property

- West Kellow Yurts cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property. Padlocks are provided for each yurt but we would recommend that valuables are kept locked inside your car rather than inside your yurt while it is unoccupied.

Please note that the site does not have 24-hour attendance.

No-smoking policy

- We operate a strict no-smoking policy inside the yurts and amenities block.

Parental supervision

- Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children on site. Children under 13 years must not be left alone at any time.

- We do not allow fireworks or Chinese lanterns on the site as we are very close to livestock fields and don’t wish to alarm or harm the animals.

General campsite rules

- West Kellow Yurts accept no responsibility for injury, loss or damage to personal belongings or persons.

- Children are not permitted to tend the fires, the stoves or the firepit at any time.

- Do not light a campfire in high winds as the sparks may carry in the wind.
