General

  • Friendly family-run site near the Lizard Peninsula
  • Coverack village harbour and beach under a mile away
  • Sports field, games room, launderette and plenty of space for play

'In a brilliant spot' is how a gratified former guest has described the setting of Little Trevothan Caravan Park near Coverack... this peaceful and friendly family park is secludedly set, but within easy reach of heaps of Cornish attractions: the Lizard Peninsula, Kynance Cove, Flambards theme park, St Michael's Mount, Poldark Mine, the National Maritime Museum and the National Seal Sanctuary are a mere handful of top destinations easily reached from here, as well as fishing, surfing and swimming galore around the seas and sands of the south coast.

Little Trevothan is among 10 acres of well-maintained lawns, hedges and shrubs, close to the coves and beaches of the Lizard Peninsula Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and 20 minutes' walk from the pubs, shops and shores of Coverack fishing village for swimming and watersports.

The site has a family games room and a small shop (open during high season), and plenty of space in the sports field and playground for kids to run around.

Among the amenities are a washroom block with toilets and free hot showers, a launderette with washing machines and dryers, and a washing-up area.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

When we arrived we were met with a warm welcome and shown to a number of pitches so we could choose where we wanted to be.
Toilets and showers were immaculate, and after the previous site we had stayed on it was a sheer pleasure to step into a clean hot shower.
The camping / motorhome pitches were immaculate.
The owners were always on hand to help. Nothing was too much trouble.
The village and beach was a short walk, and having two dogs there were plenty of walks for them.
We will be back, and thank you for welcoming us to your beautiful site.

Everything really. It's near a lovely seaside village with pub, shop, fishing trips (we saw dolphins) and beaches. The staff are friendly, hard working and helpful. The modernised facilities block is really good and the second block is due to be given the same treatment this month. The pitches are large flat and immaculate. Roskillys ice cream farm is close by with great food (go in the evening for woodfired pizza) and ice cream. The kids found a gang of friends and ran riot round the football pitch play area and games room and sneaking off to buy sweets from the site shop. The Lizard has great walks, beaches and surf and often seems drier than inland. This site has everything but a club/takeaway and that's just how we like them.

The site was fantastic. Clean toilets and shower blocks. The pitches were all clean and well maintained. The staff at reception were really helpful and knowledgeable about the local area.

Our pitch was nice and big and we didn't feel too close to our neighbouring tents.
The location was off the beaten track, so quiet and it felt safe for our young children.

Fire pits were provided on a first come first basis but free of charge. Our kids loved this as we roasted marshmallows every night.

There is a small shop on site which was great for the bits we forgot!
Park and games room available for the kids.

I would highly recommend this site.
We found it easy to get around and we visited Land's End, Minack Theatre, St Michaels Mount & Kynance Cove.

When we arrived we was greeted by the new owners and was shown to our pitch. Pitches are of a good size with water outlets close by. The site itself is spotless with always being cleaned. One of the two shower/toilet blocks have been renovated and they are planning on doing the second block soon. The showers work by pressing the button every 20 secs or so which I struggled with due to disabilities, likewise I struggled using the press button to flush the toilets but my husband and young children had no issues at all. The play area is a great size with a good size football pitch so plenty of room for kids to run around and fly kites. The games room is great and they even hire board games for a small deposit. The shop stocks a good variety of items but we didn't use it. We did borrow (for free) a fire pit and they also have free bbqs campers can borrow. We stayed in August and was still quiet by 10.30pm. We did have issues with kids running behind our tent and tripping on guy ropes regularly as there is cut ways between the hedges between fields but that's nothing to do with the site owners. The washing up area is slightly dated and at times the water wasn't hot enough to wash greasy pans but been told this is being renovated in the future.

Coverack is just a short drive or walk away and the beach is dog friendly all-year and a great fish and chip shop.

A little gem of a site that we will def be visiting again and I will recommend this site to everyone.

    Disliked:

No disabled bathroom or toilet but that's a personal need.

From the manager...

We love reading our guest reviews, and it is lovely to receive 10/10 in recognition of the improvements we are making, going in the right direction for the future of Little Trevothan. We also like to hear about things you would like to see on our holiday park as this helps with our future planning. We will be upgrading our facilities over the winter period to include a disabled shower/toilet room which will also be available for family changing giving more space than the current amenities do. This building will also incorporate a new dishwashing area plus a launderette with upgraded machines.

Thank you for all your positive comments. We love the play area and the games room, and are so pleased to know the children do too.

We look forward to seeing you again.
