Well what can i say !!!
I have never done a camping holiday before and the fact i was bringing our 2yr old daughter with us for her first camping holiday too, I was extra anxious!
Nicky was the perfect host - she had even allocated us next to the van, knowing that we were bringing our small one so we were close to the amenities.
The tent was brilliant - very clean, (not what i had pictured!) and in a beautiful setting - right next to our own private lake with our daily morning duck visitor waiting for his breakfast!
The firepit brought the campers together- and our Emily met a beautiful dutch boy who she instantly fell in love with! It really brought out the community spirit and Pete - the marshmallows were definitely a hit!
Pheobe the dog was a welcome visitor to and Emiy really enjoyed being able to play with her!
The campsite itself is lovely, very pretty at night with sparkling lights and the van has been renovated into a perfect little kitchen/bathroom for us all to use.
We shall definitely 100% be back next year and can't wait to see all the new bits you are adding over the next 12 months.
I shall even pack my bikini for the hot tub!!
Thank you for a brilliant holiday - see you all next year!!

Hi Leigh, Billy and Princess Emily

It was such a delight to have you all here and you certainly fooled us on the first time camping thing, you all looked like seasoned pros :-)

Thank you for your kind words about us hosting, we aim to bring everyone together in our little community and to make you feel part of a group, or not, if solitude is what you want. It was lovely to hear Emily's Frozen songs and what a stroke of luck she found her soul mate (well, for now).

Please do keep in touch, we have so much more to give and fingers crossed if we finish the season on a high, we'll be getting that hot tub!!!

Looking forward to seeing you all again next year :-)

Lots of love

Loved everything about it. The site was lovely, the bell tents were fab and the people running it were even better. The open fire in the evenings was brilliant and it brought everybody together to have a drink, chat and socialise which would never normally happen- resulting in meeting some lovely people with great conversations. The location is ideal for exploring also. We will be back!

A fantastic place to chill out and relax . On arrival the greeting from Nicky and Pete was very welcoming . Nothing seemed to much trouble during our stay even a few suggestions we mentioned were taken on board and implemented . The on site animal's are so cool especially Donald ( the duck ) . Who liked to wait outside for his breakfast in the morning . The bell tent was very spacious and the inside lighting made it feel very cosy . The other facilities were also of a good standard ( shower room and kitchen ) ..

Hey Jaime and Jules

It was great to have you here. I think Donald also enjoyed your company and his daily bread. You've set a precedence now for anyone staying in Willow, as they've been tasked with feeding Donald!!

So pleased you enjoyed your stay. We're looking forward to seeing you are very soon.

Gorgeous setting, very peaceful and well looked after site. Lots of space around each pitch with uninterrupted views.

The fire pit was a lovely communal space.

The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed.

The owners were really helpful and friendly. All well organised.

We had a lovely time in our teepee it was a real time saver to have a tent ready for us. There was plenty of room for the three of us. The site is peaceful a real escape. Our 4 year old daughter loved all of the animals. The owners were so friendly nothing was too much trouble. We hope to go back soon and try a bell tent. Xx

We had to wait for the loo a couple of times with a little one that can be a bit tricky. Maybe another stand alone toilet. Not a major issue

From the manager...

Hi Emma, Stu & Lily

Great to hear from you. Hope you had a good trip home. It was a delight to have you guys stay, especially Lily. Sizzle and grill say Hi.
We're so pleased you enjoyed the Tipi tent, it's been a real bonus having them this year and we're receiving a lot of comments about how great it is, not to have to set up and take down a tent.

You'll be pleased to know that for your next visit, we now have 2 toilets, so that should be much easier for people.

Thanks again for your feedback, it's really appreciated, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Thank you for the great review, we really appreciate it. It was lovely to see Iris getting involved with Small Paul and we're so glad she got to share his birthday with him. She is such a sweetheart.

It was also nice to learn more about your culture and to hear about the 'glamma glitz' of your work :-) Our firepit evening was truly international and it was great to bring so many different cultures together under one roof.

Perfect site, perfect spot, perfect hosts :) came with my family(2 adults and 2 children) stayed at a bell tent, lots of space inside despite the double bed and the smaller one that fitted both of my 7year old boys comfortably. Very close to the tent everything, the kitchen with everything u need(gas cooker, fridge, utensils, kettle) and next to the kitchen, the WC with shower inside perfect :) Also barbecue spot and a unique handmade cosy outdoor sitting area(perfect for rainy or not nights) with a big open fireplace(logs provided by the hosts at good price)
Nicky and Pit thank you so much for being so warm people, generous and always with a big smile. We will see you soon 💋

Thank you so much for such a lovely review and for being such great guests. It was great to see the boys enjoying themselves, especially round the fire pit making popcorn and melted march mellows. Phoebe says Hi and thank you for being gentle with her, she really appreciated you understanding her. Perse, it was great to see you admiring our stallion ;-)

We're glad to hear you found your fossil's on the way home too.

Looking forward to seeing you all again, maybe we'll order in some sun for you next time :-)

Local attractions

Featherlake Glamping is linked to a large network of footpaths and bridleways which will take walkers through many handsome woodland strolls. It's a 45-minute walk to Gweek from here witrh its seal sanctuary and the Black Swan village inn.

The many beaut beaches of the Lizard Peninsula are rightly world famous and include the most southerly part of mainland England – envy-inducing social media snaps should also be taken here, as should a pic at the signpost of Land's End.

For townie trips, visit Falmouth by ferry to go to the Maritime Museum, Henry VIII's Pendennis Castle and the beaches of Swanpool and Gyllynvase. Cornwall's only city of Truro is about 20 minutes away and has a decent amount to do for a day out, including shopping, the cathedral museum, the Hall For Cornwall theatre and Skinner's Brewery Tours – this last not to be missed, says the Featherlake crew. Hire bikes in town for a scenic pedal around the city surrounds.

Back at Helston, find BF Adventure for rock climbing, abseiling, kayaking, zipwires, archery and more; tours and days out from mining heritage to adventure parks including the Lizard Stallions Shire and Shetland Experience days; The Flambard Experience, Poldark Mine, Helston Museum, RNAS Culdrose and the Helston Railway, just to start you off.
