Trebyla Farm: Pitching field

General

  • Peaceful farm site with spectacular sea and countryside views
  • A mile and a half from Boscastle
  • A short distance from the South West Coast Path

Spectacular sunsets, smashing views, spying seals and all a mere mile and a half from Boscastle… things sound tremendous at north Cornwall's Trebyla Farm. It's on the north Cornish coast (also tremendous) and within easy walking distance of the wildlife watching and hikes of the splendid South West Coast Path.

Plenty of other walks surround this peaceful place, including a mile-long meander to the several pubs, restaurants and shops of Boscastle, as well as a scenic hike along to the beach at Crackington Haven. If you want to travel by wheels, a bus stop is just outside the farm entrance.

The site covers two acres on a working farm, and it's worth pointing out yet again those smashing views. On a more practical level, guests have access to a spacious wetroom on site and there's a washing-up area and facilities for ice pack freezing.

For supplies, stroll 10 or 15 minutes from Trebyla to a farm shop selling fresh local produce as well as dishing up sizeable cooked breakfasts: there are over 4,000 products here, so even fussy types should see themselves sorted. Source some fuel on your travels too, to spark up a barbecue or campfire once you stagger back to base with your haul.

Please note

Single-sex bookings of 3 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Under-21s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Everything, there was genuinely nothing to dislike about the campsite. The owners were absolutely lovely and friendly, couldn't do more to be accommodating.

The pitches are big and generous, flat ground and spaced out, electric hooks up all work as they should.

Toilets and showers are all individual and immaculate at all times of the day.

Perfect site for peace and quiet and location wise very good.

The farm shop down the road makes a great breakfast, Boscastle itself is a few minutes away, as is Tintagel and Bude is in the opposite direction for a bit more going on.

100% will be back. Also phone signal was absolutely fine, we streamed movies and everything using our data and we also worked throughout the day as it was more of a work trip for my partner.

Everything. The scenery is amazing. The sunsets and the stars. A very quiet tranquil, site. The site is not regimented at all, camp were you like, with respect to other campers. Very flat pitches. The toilets and showers are the best we have ever seen,in 35 years of camping. 15 minutes down the road is a farm shop and cafe. The coastal path runs from just below the shop. A bus service runs regularly past the site.,into Boscastle and various local places. We will definitely be back. Well done the Bright family. Stay on the b6263 when getting near to the site don't listen to your sat nav,the site will appear on your right hand side.

The facilities were clean and tidy, it was quiet and the weather was great.
Another plus was the bus stop outside the main gate, able to leave the car with no worries of parking, petrol etc. lovely !!!
The night sky was dark and good for stargazing.
    Also reasonably priced
    Plenty of walks in area.
Yes would stay again if in area.

Local attractions

One of the most famed things about Boscastle is its Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, open in Boscastle since 1960 and a popular stopoff point for tourists as well as those interested in witchcraft and the occult.

The village should keep you going for a bit after a dip into the witchcraft museum, even if you just sit and stare at its scenic harbour from one of its two stone walls… If you fancy delving into a bit more history, the National Trust has a visitor centre in Boscastle's Old Smithy (and if not, there are a few interesting little shops around).

The South West Coast Path is accessed from here – the walk to Arthurian Tintagel is much recommended – and those who want to stay active can source horse riding, fishing and golfing in the area too.

This is of course surfing country as well, or you could stick to exploring the rockpools among the many sandy beaches around this part of coast.

Must see

  • Tintagel Castle (4.7 miles)
  • Rock Beach (15.4 miles)
  • Cornwall's Crealy Great Adventure Park (18.5 miles)

National Trust

  • Tintagel Old Post Office (4.5 miles)
  • Lawrence House (13.9 miles)
