Spectacular sunsets, smashing views, spying seals and all a mere mile and a half from Boscastle… things sound tremendous at north Cornwall's Trebyla Farm. It's on the north Cornish coast (also tremendous) and within easy walking distance of the wildlife watching and hikes of the splendid South West Coast Path. Plenty of other walks surround this peaceful place, including a mile-long meander to the several pubs, restaurants and shops of Boscastle, as well as a scenic hike along to the beach at Crackington Haven. If you want to travel by wheels, a bus stop is just outside the farm entrance. The site covers two acres on a working farm, and it's worth pointing out yet again those smashing views. On a more practical level, guests have access to a spacious wetroom on site and there's a washing-up area and facilities for ice pack freezing. For supplies, stroll 10 or 15 minutes from Trebyla to a farm shop selling fresh local produce as well as dishing up sizeable cooked breakfasts: there are over 4,000 products here, so even fussy types should see themselves sorted. Source some fuel on your travels too, to spark up a barbecue or campfire once you stagger back to base with your haul.

Gostou Really great location with a great view. The nearby farmshop was amazing to get supplies for cooking. Owners were really helpful and approachable when we had an issue (despite the site being large and spacious with multiple fields and many available pitches, some strange people pitched up on the edge of our occupied pitch whilst we were out - to the point it was creepy how close they wanted to sleep next to me)

Não gostou I dropped one star for the loos. There is a lovely large static caravan style structure which houses 3 toilets, 3 showers and a washing up area. At the start of the stay the facilities were great, probably the nicest ive ever seen at a campsite, with amazing water pressure in the shower. However as the week went on it went downhill a bit - the soap dispensers never got refilled and the loos started to smell like urine - not helped by the fact the 3 loos are unisex which did get unpleasant as i was often greeted by urine splashes all over the place. There are more toilets which were closed off during the quieter times, however I think it is worth opening more toilets permanently and segregate some so that we can enjoy dry toilet seats safely away from the type of men who are incapable of cleaning up their mess or respecting other campers.

Gostou Absolutely stunning views. Hot and clean showers. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Dog friendly and access to drinking water all around the campsite. I loved my stay here and am looking forward to going back. Boscastle has a lovely little harbour walk and free parking after 4pm (check in case it has changed).

One of the most famed things about Boscastle is its Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, open in Boscastle since 1960 and a popular stopoff point for tourists as well as those interested in witchcraft and the occult. The village should keep you going for a bit after a dip into the witchcraft museum, even if you just sit and stare at its scenic harbour from one of its two stone walls… If you fancy delving into a bit more history, the National Trust has a visitor centre in Boscastle's Old Smithy (and if not, there are a few interesting little shops around). The South West Coast Path is accessed from here – the walk to Arthurian Tintagel is much recommended – and those who want to stay active can source horse riding, fishing and golfing in the area too. This is of course surfing country as well, or you could stick to exploring the rockpools among the many sandy beaches around this part of coast.
