What customers say

This is a well-maintained, peaceful campsite with friendly and helpful owners. Pitches are spacious and well-laid out, offering privacy. Facilities, including toilets and showers, are consistently praised for their cleanliness. Its location is ideal, with easy walking access to the beach, local shops, and public transport links to nearby towns and cities like Brighton. The site is family-friendly, with a popular play area. Minor points include occasional aeroplane noise due to proximity to an airport and some visitors noting limited washing-up facilities or shower/toilet capacity during peak times.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely campsite, friendly owners, very clean facilities and spacious pitches around the edge of the field making a nice open view, not overcrowded even though the site was fully booked. Perfectly positioned between Brighton and Worthing with good transport connections and close to the beach for coastal walking.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Not overcrowded. Pitches were large and spaced out with loads of room for kids to play. All pitches overlook the play area so you can keep a watchful eye on them from your pitch. Picnic benches scattered around that you can move to your pitch for alfresco dining.

Disliked Electric hook up kept tripping when trying to use 2 appliances (fridge and air fryer). Was able to use fridge and charge phones at same time without issue.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Really great, clean and well run site. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The pitches are a great size, private and love the fact they are all in circle and you see the playground and big grass area for the kids to play on. Showers were always available, plenty of hot water and very clean same with the toilets. Washing up facilities always clean and made a good addition. The reception area is a great addition too, ice cream for the kids and lovely well made cup of coffee. Good reasonable price too, as so close to many different areas. Our first camping trip as a family was a success and we can’t wait for another visit!

Electric grass pitch

Liked Refreshing change to go to a site with a space in the middle, rather than the pitches being crammed in. Good to see children playing in the field. Perfect situation, 10 minutes to the station which we used twice to go into Brighton and 10 minutes to the beach. Well presented little shop/cafe. I agree with a past post about dogs not being allowed on the playing field (although the bulldog owners did pick up the dog mess).
A really good find and perfect for what we needed, close to amenities, spacious and not too big.

Disliked We found that 2 showers and 2 toilets were not really enough when the site was full.
The pitch next to us had 3 cars in front of their caravan. Perhaps a limit of one and then the rest to be parked by the entrance would be preferable.

Local attractions

Beaches, beaches, beaches… the nearest beach, South Lancing, is within a short walk, with the beaches of Worthing and Shoreham-by-Sea each two miles’ walk from here. Or head west along the coast to the flumes of Littlehampton’s Harbour Park or to the bountiful resort of Bognor Regis. The town of Lancing is less than a mile away from The Barn with a nature reserve, Lancing Ring, to its north and restaurants and shops at which to fill your boots and empty your wallet. Worthing is also well worth a look as one of the biggest towns in the area – and the former home of Oscar Wilde and Harold Pinter for those who like their literature. There are a couple of hundred listed buildings in the town to make your way around as well as the biggest museum in West Sussex, an undercover shopping centre and, er, a haunted oak tree. Along the coast to the west there’s cracking Chichester with its Norman cathedral, festivals and shops; Fishbourne Roman Palace, the biggest Roman home in Britain, is just outside the city. Going inland, nature lovers, sightseers and adrenaline seekers will find heaps of things to do: the market town of Horsham and its birds of prey centre; horse-riding, hiking and historical artefacts in the South Downs National Park; the RSPB reserve of Pulborough Brooks and the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust wildlife haven Arundel overlooked by Arundel Castle. Sprogs have plenty of choice too: take them along to West Sussex’s farm parks and play centres, to Chichester for mountain boarding (not biking) or for a puff on the South Downs Light Railway.
