  • Quiet family-friendly farm site on eight acres of Kent farmland
  • A 45-minute drive from Hastings; half an hour to the coast
  • Fishing lake and kitchen facilities on site; fresh eggs to buy
Heading to the Kent countryside in a quest for a rural retreat near to steam railways, castle ruins and vineyards? As well as assorted farm animals on site, there are eight acres of farmland at Setts Wood Camping and Glamping, including a fishing lake (charges apply) and a wooded area for classic games of hide and seek. Down a private lane and well away from the road, there is certainly plenty of unwinding to be done at this quiet site. Don't worry about being too far removed though, as it's still within reach of several historic towns including Hastings (a 45-minute drive away), and has several sandy beaches within half an hour’s drive. The local town of Tenterden is five minutes’ drive away for a convenient collection of breweries, restaurants and supermarkets where you can pick up supplies for a picnic or a barbecue back at the farm. You can also buy fresh free-range eggs on site every morning, in a splendid selection of different colours. Store any leftovers in the communal fridge and make use of the other kitchen facilities such as a kettle and sink. Other handy facilities include toilets and a shower block, for washing off any grains of sand accumulated from the beaches at Camber Sands and Dymchurch, both within half an hour’s drive.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Such a beautiful campsite incredibly peaceful with sheep and alpacas roaming the site which my grandkids loved. Theres a fishing pond where my grandkids fished all weekend, it was such a big hit with them that theyre getting fishing equipment for their birthdays! The site is big, clean with plenty of toilets, a shower and a cool little kitchen with kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave. The lady owner was really kind and helpful and gave me advice about how to get home when the road into Tenterden was closed due to road works. We all really loved this place and are looking to go back during the summer holidays. Only a short drive into Tenterden too which has plenty of shops, restaurants, big play park and excellent swimming pool. Thanks for a great weekend x

Liked We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Setts Wood Camping and will definitely be back! The campsite is very well maintained, with spotless toilets and showers, and everything you need for a comfortable camping trip including kitchen facilities

The location is perfect – only around 20 minutes from the beautiful Camber Sands beach. Kids absolutely loved the alpacas and didn’t want to leave them! 🦙❤️

A special mention also goes to Loki, the adorable dog, who completely stole our hearts. 🐶

The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating such a lovely atmosphere. We highly recommend Setts Wood Camping to anyone looking for a peaceful, family-friendly, and well-equipped campsite.
