  • Peaceful site 10 minutes’ drive from Whitstable and Canterbury
  • In the countryside; small, friendly and away from crowds
  • Just a 20-minute walk from the nearest pub in the village of Blean
Treating yourself to some time away in Kent? Then, pick Chapter Farm Camping as your base and you will be surrounded by quiet countryside, well away from the crowds. This site, managed by the Camping and Caravanning Club, has a small, peaceful and friendly feel and is also oh-so-convenient for seeing Kent’s coast, countryside and historic attractions. First of all, though, it’s worth noting that both Camping and Caravanning Club members and non-members are welcome here; however, there’s a reduced rate for members, so please make sure you select the correct membership status when booking. After settling in and getting acquainted with the on-site facilities, which include toilets, a shower and a washing-up area, you might want to look around the local area. It’s a 20-minute walk from the site to the local pub in the village of Blean; another pub is about 15 minutes further on. Whitstable, famed for its oysters (and other fresh seafood), is a 10-minute drive away. Get a good look at its colourful beach huts, working harbour and independent shops, before moving on to the historic streets of Canterbury, where medieval architecture, a huge Gothic cathedral, boutique shops and restaurants all make for a splendid – and varied – afternoon out. Along the Kent coast, there are plenty of opportunities to keep active: beaches, coastal walks and watersports centres that’ll set you up to go paddleboarding or sailing. If spotting some of the local wildlife is high on your list of priorities, keep your eyes peeled along the coast, or check out some of the nature reserves. Scenic cycling routes, vineyards, animal parks and shops with local produce are all things to look forward to in this part of Kent.
