  • Peaceful adults-only rural Kent site 10 minutes' drive from Tenterden
  • A 25-minute drive to Rye; several vineyards close by for tours
  • Pétanque court and firepit grates on site; local pub 10 minutes' walk
When you stay at Field End Campsite, you’ll be sharing the space with the chickens and ducks that live here, and just a handful of other guests… but no kids, as this Kent site is an adults-only setup that’s all about letting the grownups have a bit of chillout time. This rural location (about 15 minutes’ drive from Ashford) is a particularly fine spot for a break if you’re into your fishing – there’s a fishery just next door, with a couple more within a 15-minute walk/five-minute drive. Meanwhile, cyclists can pedal along quiet country lanes and there are plenty of places to get out for a walk nearby too (and you’ll be welcome to bring your dog along if they fancy a Kent countryside walk too…) Only planning to walk as far as the pub? That shouldn’t take long, as the nearest one is only about 10 minutes away on foot. There are four more pubs within a five-minute drive if you’d like to mix things up a bit, or you could pick up supplies at the farm shop just outside the local village of Bethersden (five minutes’ drive) and get your barbecue going back at base. There’s also a butcher and grocery shop in the village, with bigger supermarkets over in Tenterden (10 minutes) if you need them. Tenterden also has some lovely cafés and a good range of shops on its high street. Facilities on site include a washing-up area, toilets, showers and a solar-powered shower for those who are brave enough. There's also a pétanque court on site. Each pitch has its own grate, where you're welcome to set up a campfire; logs, kindling and firelighters can be purchased from the site for an additional fee. If you need to freeze ice packs or blocks, ask the team for access to the freezer.

What customers say

A small, peaceful, adults-only campsite with friendly, welcoming hosts. Visitors praise the immaculate clean facilities, including showers with hot water, and thoughtful touches like fire pits and games. Enjoy free fresh eggs from the resident chickens and ducks. The site offers good WiFi, electric hook-up and water on pitches, and is well-located for exploring local towns and countryside. Some guests noted the shower/toilet stalls are open at the top, which may not suit everyone.

Liked This was a lovely little site, not overcrowded with the facilities being extremely clean and suffice. The site was peaceful, with chickens and ducks (eggs for free if laid) and outdoor games available (badminton, boule, jenga, large connect 4). The man was super friendly and showed us around. Lovely pubs close by and a shop (both in biking distance).

Disliked Nothing.

Liked Wonderful. Really friendly owners, beautiful site. We had a really peaceful weekend and it has become our new home from home. Locally Tenterden, Rye and Hastings. A great pub 10 minutes walk. We loved it, and will be back, a lot.

Liked What a GEM! Lovely site, facilities smashing, so quiet with lots of wild life. A fox, hedgehog, owl and geese. Saw all late at night as puppy had to go out. Karen and Richard very helpful, although Karen went off for weekend (Paws in the park), Richard kept everything clean and tidy. Fantastic little touches to look at, games to play or places to just sit and look with fire pit if needed. We shall be back and will ask for number one pitch if available. Thanks very much.

Disliked Nothing at all.

Liked Great little site with plenty of space. Karen welcomed us on arrival and was warm an welcoming. The site was peaceful, with chickens and ducks (eggs for free if laid) and outdoor games available. You can buy logs for a fire pit which were helpfully delivered by Richard. The site looks lovely in the evenings with the sites fairy lights twinkling away. Lovely pubs close by, one of which was very expensive. Easy biking to the local village or slightly further afield to Tenterden by using quiet lanes. We didn't use the facilities as we have our own (but had a nosey, as you do 🤭) and they all looked clean and well maintained. Thank you Karen and Richard.

Liked Great little site.
Exceedingly clean facilities - bit different as in wooden hut but immaculate.
Very friendly and helpful owner.
Free eggs (if hens laying) - such a nice offer.
Communal sitting area if wanted.
Close the Tenterden and local vineyards

Disliked Shame there are no footpaths to walk along from the site - but that is not the site's fault.

From the manager: Angela ,
Thank you for the glowing review, do hope you come again,
As for the local footpaths we are in contact with local council,
Watch this space 😁

Odd dog poo not always ours, as people do have dogs running free on sight, and Karen and I poo pick at least once a day.

Liked Had a great two night stay here.
Karen and Richard were very welcoming and accommodating.
Though the campsite was smaller than we expected, it was very quiet and private - the gated entrance and fences round the site gave a nice, secluded feel.
The toilets and shower block were well maintained, clean and the shower was lovely and warm!
The WiFi was a bonus and we took advantage of the games available to play (connect four under the gazebo was fun).
We walked to the local pub after a recommendation on arrival and weren’t disappointed.
Would definitely recommend this campsite and hope to stay here again.
