  • Pop-up site on 15 acres near Wootton Bridge
  • A 10-minute walk to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway at Wootton station
  • Next to a woodland nature reserve; pubs within 15 minutes' walk
‘Secluded, but still walkable to a few shops – and a good pub or two’ say the owners of Oakdene Orchard… and if you like the sound of this, make your way to the Isle of Wight for a stay at their 15-acre site, where the pitches sit among mature fields and native woodland just outside the village of Wootton Bridge. Pitches at this pop-up site are big, flat and very well spaced out – in general you can barely even spot one from another. The whole place is sheltered from the wind by surrounding hedgerows, and each pitch has additional screening from more hedges and trees to give a properly peaceful and private feeling. If you’re after a bit of a digital detox, this might be the place for you – it’s a pretty long way from any phone masts or power pylons so you won’t get much by way of mobile reception. What you will get, though, is a bench and firepit for each pitch, along with simple amenities including showers, portable toilets and a water supply. And those shops and pubs? They’re about 10-15 minutes’ walk away in the village, so it’s handy to pop out for a pint, a meal or some picnic supplies whenever you like (and without any need to drive…). Such essentials sorted, you can also take some fine walks in several hundred acres of accessible nature reserve just next to the site, or stroll over to Wootton station for a ride on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
