  • Family-friendly site on a hillside wooded glade with an old farmstead
  • A 15-minute drive to Brighstone Bay and 20 minutes to Compton Bay
  • Communal firepit and easy access to footpaths
All set to start your family break on the Isle of Wight? With Camp Corve as your base, it’ll be off to a flying start. The site is surrounded by an ancient woodland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 15 minutes’ drive away from the nearest family-friendly stretch of sand. What activities might you get stuck into around here? Walking, cycling, skateboarding, sitting around a firepit, swimming and surfing, to list but a few. There's a barn-based skatepark a couple of minutes’ walk away and it’s a five-minute drive to Military Road, which has sweet coastal views and beaches. Beach time? Head for the family-friendly Brighstone Bay, accessible from Grange Chine (15 minutes’ drive), or Compton Bay (20 minutes’ drive) for its north-westerly chalk cliff views and surf school. The quiet leafy lane leading to the site becomes a bridleway that leads onto extensive hikes through Isle of Wight landscapes too. Tucked into a hillside, Camp Corve's wooded glade is on an old farmstead with six acres of space. Vast skies and rolling countryside? Indeed. Private and sheltered by young and mature trees, wild plants and grass? Oh, yes. Birds and small animals also call this place home, so kids won’t be the only ones playing about. No need to sacrifice home comforts here, as the site has a ‘Squirrels and Hedgehogs’ toilet and hot shower building fashioned from recycled bricks from around the old farm. Power sockets are available, as is an accessible toilet. The ‘Ash Circle’ has two communal firepits with logs available and an outdoor sink for washing up. Cars are parked in the farmyard area, where there’s a wheelbarrow-trolley to transport your gear.

What customers say

This is a peaceful, rural campsite with a natural feel, offering secluded, spacious pitches amongst trees. Facilities, particularly showers, are praised for being clean and having hot water. The location is ideal for exploring the island and provides a tranquil escape. An on-site skatepark is a popular feature. Some guests noted a lack of bins and a desire for more charging points.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Nicely laid out site, excellent showers, hot water for washing up, very helpful hosts, location, there were no dogs when we were there, very pleasant fellow campers so must attract the right people 😊. Use of secure space to store and charge electric bikes. No cars in the camping area made it safe for children and peaceful for all.

Liked Hosts were very welcoming and accommodating! Other campers were friendly and our kids even made good friends with some of the other kids! No noise at all, clean and easy showers to use, toilets and hot water! All you could want for a camping site. Will definitely be back. An amazing stay!

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Camp Corve was a lovely place to camp. Hamish the owner was welcoming and a joy to be around. He showed us around the camp site and where we could pitch. We loved that it wasn’t a vast field, it was in fact a natural environment with little pockets of camping pitches. The fire pit area was a great addition as was the skate park. We booked our children on to one of Hamish’ classes and they loved it so much that we booked on again. Definitely recommend the classes. The eco showers were fab, as were the shower indoors if you prefer less spiders.
We will definitely be back and cannot wait to see what Hamish and his wife add further.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Definitely somewhere we'd stay for longer, if we were on the IoW again, Camp Corve is lovely, well thought out, secluded, and peaceful. Loved the hand-painted signs and map! Great facilities for what is actually quite a small site (it wouldn't be the same if it were lots bigger).
It's about 90mins bike ride from Yarmouth (if that's how you roll!). We weren't carrying enough food for a meal for all of us, so we rode 15 mins to the White Mouse Inn for a meal, which was good.

Erin and Hamish very welcoming and the indoor skate park is real! Our kids loved it.

And yes, I saw a red squirrel scurrying about in front of me while everyone else was asleep.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Landscaping, privacy, feeling of nature, family run, good washing bathroom facilities. Cars left away from the camping. And a skateboarding park for the kids run by the owners.

Disliked Hard to fault this camp, but if I'm being fussy a small shop to buy a pint of milk would have been nice.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked We LOVED this campsite. Everything has been so well thought out. We had our own little clearing, and although you're aware other people are there, the plants and trees around you make you feel you are out in the wild.
We are not seasoned campers, so it was great to have everything needed on site and close by. Proper toilets and great showers out in the field, washing up facilities and even ready made fire pits. Hamish was really friendly and always around the site if you needed him.
He helped us book our 8 year old in for his first ever skateboard lesson, which he thoroughly enjoyed and was one of the highlights of the stay. There were lots of walks from the campsite and the views were beautiful.
We really enjoyed it our stay here and will definitely be back.

Disliked Couldn't stay longer

Local attractions

With white cliffs and golden sands, the Isle of Wight's coast is likely to snatch your attention. Get the classic golden sand at Brook Bay (15 minutes) and then track down the traditional fishing cove Steephill Cove (15 minutes). If you want a vintage kind of beach day, head to Ventnor (20 minutes) to hire traditional beach huts with wheels. Blackgang Chine (10 minutes) is another spot full of heritage – it's famed as the UK’s oldest amusement park. The 400-foot drop tower has views of the sea before the big drop. Those of you keen on gathering some historical knowledge can pay a visit to Carisbrooke Castle (15 minutes), Mottistone Gardens and Estate (20 minutes), Model Village Godshill (10 minutes) or the 88-acre Robin Hill (20 minutes). The Needles Landmark Attraction (half an hour), of course, is a must-see with views of white cliffs and demos like glass blowing or sweet making. A botanic garden, zoos and a farm park are within a short drive of the site.
