What customers say
This is a clean, well-maintained campsite praised for its friendly and helpful staff, particularly Emma and Terry. Pitches are generally large and private, separated by hedges. Facilities, while some describe them as dated, are consistently reported as clean. The location is a significant plus, offering proximity to shops, pubs, beaches, and walking routes. While most visitors enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, some noted occasional road and aircraft noise. The 20p charge for showers was mentioned by several guests, and some found the facilities could benefit from refurbishment.

Good site. Perfect for travellers who wish to explore without driving
Electric grass pitch
Liked Really friendly staff, accommodated our move when our pitch wasn’t to our liking. The site is in close walking distance of the Morrisons and Aldi and Screwfix if any repairs or tools needed. Also bus stop (Cheverton Shute) [w3ws: ///bitter.bulges.prevents] is really close for buses to Newport or Sandown and connections at Sandown high street make it seamless. Short walk to Lake Train Station too. Site itself had ok facilities, not the most amazing but does the job. Pitches are plenty big enough for a decent set up too.
Disliked There were some local’s on the site who looked like residents. Few times in the afternoon we’d hear a full blown domestic argument with plenty of swearing which did make the stay entertaining but isn’t exactly what you’d expect. Bins were often full, not big enough for the site really.

Overall a good site, well positioned and very friendly.
Electric grass pitch
Liked Fabulous welcome from Emma who also provided lots of information about places to go and see. Couldn't have been more helpful and friendly throughout our short stay. Her colleague even arranged to reschedule our ferry as we decided to stay on longer as there was so much to see and do. Thanks!
Disliked It is fair to say the toilet and shower facilities are somewhat dated and in need of an upgrade. However, they were regularly cleaned. We used the family bathroom which had a removeable shower spray which was preferred by my wife. It's a shame that some people didn't leave the facilities as they would like to find them, but that's not the site's fault.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Good even pitches in hedged locations. Site was quirky and tidy. Showers and toilets clean. Perfect location for the rally site
Disliked Right next to the airport with regular flights, and although clean the shower blocks were dated

Very rude owner. Avoid this place.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Location fairly close to supermarket which is good for camping supplies. Plenty of space as campsite not busy.
Disliked The owner was very rude. Please bear in mind we had already paid up front of our arrival. Upon arrival at the property (approx 5pm) we saw a sign that said report to reception. We went, but it said closed. There was no signage informing anyone which directions certain pitch numbers were. The camp site itself was not very full, so we parked up close to a family member. Approximately 4hrs after our arrival, a man (we presumed to be the owner) came marching across, asking if that was my car, and began shouting rudely at us (in front of a young child & grand parents)about us not checking in, could have let him know, and that he hadn’t had his dinner. We tried to explain, the reception sign said closed, but he continued to completely dismiss this. Continued to be rude and stormed off. CANNOT discourage this site enough purely based on this man’s behaviour towards paying customers. Also showers are not included, you need to pay to use them. (Only 20p - annoying if you don’t carry change, which a lot of people don’t anymore)

Would highly recomend!
Electric grass pitch
Liked What a lovely site, it was by far the cheapest site we looked at on the island for our stay. The others had pools and other stuff but who needs a pool when the beach is 10 mins away! It’s a well kept and clean site with lots of choices of pitch to suit. The facilities are basic but clean and well looked after and the price of using said facilities is very reasonable compared to some sites we’ve stayed at. The kids loved having a little park and games room for times when we weren’t out and about. Even the free WiFi was reasonably good and only slow in the evenings when everyone was trying to use it. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Disliked Only a tiny dislike was the airport just down the road! At some points it felt like we were in the blitz with all the small old airplanes roaring over head.
