Meonvale Farm Camping is a secluded farm site with outstanding views over the South Downs countryside. Situated between two nature reserves and with an excellent outlook over Old Winchester Hill, this simple campsite is in a great location for several long-distance walks, including the South Downs Way, the Monarch's Way, the Wayfarer's Walk and the Pilgrims' Trail. The site is also adjacent to the Meon Valley Trail, an 11-mile bike track that runs through peaceful Hampshire countryside. Such rural surroundings mean lots of peace and quiet for guests here, who can expect to see a good deal of wildlife during their stay, including spectacular birds of prey. There's an eight-acre pitching field where you'll have plenty of space to put up your tent – simply pick your own plot on arrival. Facilities are basic at this site and include toilets and a covered washing-up area. Please be prepared to take all rubbish home with you as the site does not have waste disposal facilities. Meonstoke is a mile away by road and slightly less if you take the footpath. The village's shop and pub can be reached on foot within a quarter of an hour – head to the latter if you're tempted by the prospect of some takeaway sourdough pizza…

Following a sat nav will often take you down a narrow lane. To avoid this, go to Meonstoke village hall, then follow Pound Lane around a sharp left hand bend. The campsite is up the track opposite the end of Pound Lane. If you wish to access the site from the South Downs Way, please call ahead so you can be checked in and given directions.
