Liked: Beautiful location with fantastic walks and views straight from the site. Probably the quietest site we've ever had the pleasure of spending the weekend at. Will definitely be staying again. Thank you

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Site is in a lovely quiet setting and was very well kept, shower and toilets all good if a little breezy in the morning (it was windy out). Lisa was very accommodating so all was good. Our first time trialling a camper so didn’t know what to expect but it was all very easy. Don’t forget a 25m extension for the power, it’s in the instructions but as a male I reserve the right to not read that bit! East Meon is lovely, I recommend walking up through the churchyard and up the hill. It’s steep but worth the view. We ate in The George which was a bit pricey but the food was good. The Isaac down the road is more of a social pub and does takeaway. There’s a little shop for your essentials, what more do you need? So in summary, loved the placed, would definitely go back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Peace and quiet with beautiful views - red kites and buzzards swooping over during the day and barn owls at night - clean and very well-equipped shower, toilet and washing up facilities - site manager Lisa was very helpful and welcoming. East Meon village is a short walk and beautiful - a great place to stop for lunch or a coffee.

Disliked: Nothing!

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked: View, location, site. Well basically all if it. Facilities are spot. Did not try the shower so don't know about that. Loved sitting there looking out over fields, very relaxing. East Meon is a very pretty village which is a short walk from the site.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Very clean facilities, only one shower but wasn't an issue as its a small site. Easy access to both pubs and walks, and had a little information room with some suggested routes. All the pitches had beautiful views, and Lisa was very attentive. Would definitely recommend, and would stay again if we are in the area

Local attractions

Duncombe Farm is in the South Downs National Park, a landscape of red brick villages, rolling hills and crystal-clear chalk streams, and close to the South Downs Way (a 100-mile trail that stretches all the way from Winchester to Eastbourne). There are plenty of shorter walks here too, though, if you don’t want to get puffed out: head to Beacon Hill Nature Reserve (20 minutes' drive) for spectacular views over the Meon Valley and a manageable six-mile circular stroll.  The coast is also within easy reach: the nearest beaches are at Hayling Island (30 minutes) or the Witterings (40 minutes). Make tracks to the latter for far-reaching views over Chichester Harbour (pack your binoculars, too – it's a birdlife hub). Sticking with the nautical theme, Portsmouth's historic dockyard (30 minutes) is also worth a gander if you fancy exploring Tudor, Napoleonic and modern naval history.  Guests of a literary bent, meanwhile, should head to Jane Austen's former home (20 minutes) or live out their period fantasies at Hinton Ampner, a local stately home (20 minutes). Petersfield (15 minutes) also has three well-stocked bookshops if you fancy getting some reading in during your stay.
