Electric grass campervan pitch

Liked: Nothing - nobody to welcome you or even contact

Disliked: Showers/toilets needed updating, cold and very unwelcoming. One shower would not even work. No accessible mirrors, ridiculously high.

From the manager: Check in details are provided in your welcome email. This also explains we live on site and are available 24 hours. Unfortunately as you arrived late and left early the next morning we missed you on our walk around. It was unseasonably chilly the night you stayed and I'm sorry you felt the shower block was cold and unwelcoming and had problems operating one of the showers and reaching the mirrors. New facilities are being added and will be open for the 2025 season.

Electric grass campervan pitch

Liked: Really neat and tidy site. Good size pitches. The shower was hot and powerful to use. We actually booked hook up but forgot our cable but the toilets had a plug so I could still dry my hair after my shower which was great. Very peaceful, lovely friendly owners and couple of pot washes.

Disliked: Only suggestions would be to perhaps pop a shelter over one of the post washes for when it's raining and perhaps a fridge freezer.

Local attractions

Get keyed up on the local history… with hillforts, National Trust properties and historic steam railways around, there are many jaunts to take you way back. Closest to the site, there's Danebury Iron Age Hillfort (10 minutes’ drive), Mottisfont’s (15 minutes) historical priory, garden and country estate (15 minutes) or Winchester’s (15 minutes) cathedral, castle, markets and fairs. Perhaps the most iconic of the lot, Stonehenge (35 minutes) is a short trip away. Mid Hants Railway 'Watercress Line' (25 minutes) will take you on a ride along a 19th-century heritage steam train line, while the National Motor Museum (45 minutes) and the maritime museum at Buckler's Hard (55 minutes) are full to the brim with old artefacts. Once you’re done with country house tours – perhaps at Broadlands House (35 minutes) or the National Trust’s Georgian Hinton Ampner (25 minutes) – a festival might bring you firmly to the present again. The Boomtown Fair venue (20 minutes) and Carfest South venue (25 minutes) are both close by. But, how to finish off your stay? Maybe the 72-hectare arboretum at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens (20 minutes), the birds of prey experiences at the Hawk Conservancy Trust (25 minutes), Marwell Zoo (half an hour), Salisbury Cathedral (half an hour) or the kid-friendly Paultons Park, Home of Peppa Pig World (half an hour)?
