Shady spots and sunny spots for you sun lovers

  • Dog-friendly pop-up site in a spacious four-acre field
  • A 10-minute drive from beaches and 15 minutes from Milford on Sea
  • A 10-minute walk from a microbrewery, spa, vegan café and restaurant
Whether you’re paddleboarding on local beaches, pursuing outdoor activities in the New Forest or mooching around the nearby towns, there’s a great balance between civilisation and peaceful countryside at In Nature Camping in Dorset. Under a mile from the edge of the New Forest National Park and 10 minutes’ drive away from beaches, there’s lots on the agenda here: days at the beach, visits to nearby historic towns and properties, shopping or even chilling with a spa treatment at the venue a short walk away. Also within 10 minutes' walk of the site is a vegan café and a restaurant. There’s a microbrewery 10 minutes' walk away, which serves drinks like small-cask beer, handcrafted ales and ‘unfined’ beer. A five-minute drive away, there’s another café with pick-your-own farm produce activities - how lovely. The closest beaches for strolls, snoozes, swimming and the likes are Avon beach (10 minutes), Highcliffe beach (10 minutes) Barton-on-sea beach (10 minutes). As for interesting local towns with shops and cafés, make your way to Highcliffe (five minutes), Christchurch (10 minutes), New Milton (five minutes) and Milford on Sea (15 minutes). The main road from Lyndhurst to the coast runs just a short distance from the field, making it nice and easy to access local attractions. What about the place you’ll be calling home for your Dorset holiday? Off-grid, it’s very much a wildlife haven. Try your hand at self-sufficiency (barbecues and firepits are allowed, weather conditions permitting) or grab your meals locally. There are four hot showers, six toilets and two washing-up sinks for those of you who decide to dust off the old camp stove and try cooking under the stars.

What customers say

This is a well-regarded campsite praised for its cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff, and excellent facilities including hot showers. Guests appreciate the peaceful, spacious setting, the natural surroundings, and the proximity to local attractions. Fire pits are available for hire, and a pizza van is a popular addition. While most visitors had a positive experience, some noted that during busy periods, particularly bank holidays, facilities could become overwhelmed and tents were pitched very close together.

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch

Liked This was a lovely campsite, great facilities (drinking water taps around the whole site, hot showers and washing up area!) Plus loads of space per pitch! I was quiet but still a lovely environment so close to both the New Forest and nearby beaches. The owner was lovely and we had many nice chats, he provided us with an information booklet for local sites and even gave some tips for some of the best things to do for a short stay. Great value for money!

Disliked I really can’t fault the In Nature Campsite, we loved every minute of our stay, we could only wish that it was longer (but that’s nothing to do with the campsite and everything to do with having I go back to work :()

Liked A Perfect Stay at In Nature Camping

I recently stayed at what can only be described as an exceptional campsite and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this place is a cut above the rest.

First and foremost, the facilities were spotless. The entire site, from the pitches to the communal areas, was impeccably clean and well maintained. The hot showers were a dream after a long day, always warm, with great water pressure, and regularly cleaned throughout the day. We hired a tent which was in new condition and of very high quality.

What truly set this campsite apart, though, were the owners. They were incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to make sure every guest was comfortable. Whether it was helping us find a local shop or offering firewood late in the evening, nothing was too much trouble. Their genuine hospitality made the entire experience feel warm and personal.

The service overall was outstanding ,fast, friendly, and efficient. You could tell that the owners take real pride in what they do. Everything ran smoothly, and there was always someone around to assist if needed.

If you're looking for a well run campsite with modern comforts and a personal touch, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be returning.

Liked How clean the site was, the clean toilet and shower facilities and Jeremy was always around if we needed something. Could come and go as we pleased as long as noise level was kept down. Lovely stay.

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch

Liked We enjoyed our stay at In Nature campsite. Great location, peaceful, close to both great beaches and the new forest. The facilities are kept very clean at all times of the day. There is hot water in the showers! The manager is really friendly and gave great recommendations which was appreciated. The micro brewery down the road was great.

Disliked The description must be updated as the first three points before clicking into the longer description mentions being 10 minutes from a vegan café, which is one of the reasons we booked this campsite. This vegan cafe is now closed. It would be great to have hand washing and dishwashing facilities in both fields. Small things like fairly lights around the toilet area and a little solar panel or battery light inside the portaloo (things we've seen in other campsites) would take the campsite to the next level.

Ready tent

Liked Lovely area, nice path to walk up into the forest. My partner and I booked on the day and made use of the 'Ready Tent' option. Great tent, Coleman Octagon, and was clean and exactly as described. The campsite feels remote and a great place to 'Disconnect'. Yet very close to useful things like Supermarkets, there's also a brewery just around the corner. Beach isn't a million miles away. Toilets are maintained and were pleasant throughout, 4 hot showers available for use and toiletries stocked within. Chap running the site was friendly, accommodating and very helpful and informative, full of knowledge about the local area.

Disliked Having to leave so soon.

Local attractions

Work your way outwards, starting with the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum (five minutes’ drive) and the Romantic-style Highcliffe Castle (five minutes). The beach has access to the beach and a nature reserve, but for more cool habitats and wild animals, Hengistbury Head (20 minutes) should also be on your radar. Milford on Sea (15 minutes) is also just over the way. There, you’ll certainly get your watersports fix. There are ferries to Hurst Castle, an artillery fort at sea with links to the formidable Henry VIII. Further along the coast is the sailing hub of Lymington (20 minutes). To the north, your New Forest adventures might include the Go Ape course and cycling trails in the Moors Valley Country Park & Forest (half an hour). To the south, perhaps a big day out in Bournemouth (25 minutes), where surfing, kayaking and cycles on the prom might keep you occupied?
