General

  • Small, friendly site on a working farm in the South Downs
  • A 15-minute drive to Chichester; 10 minutes to the nearest beach
  • Farm tours available; 10 minutes' walk to tea rooms and a farm shop

With Hampshire to its west, West Sussex to its east, the coast a little way south and the South Downs National Park, Sindles Farm is in a splendid spot for a break that’s packed full of variety.

From this location just outside the village of Aldsworth it’ll take you about 10 minutes to drive to the beach at Emsworth, 15 minutes to Chichester and 20 minutes to Portsmouth or the many events of the Goodwood Estate. Walks are definitely on the cards too, whether you’re up for a long national park hike or the short 10-minute stroll across the field to the tea rooms and farm shop at Stansted Park.

Also close by is the village of Westbourne (five minutes’ drive), which has a small supermarket, a fish and chip shop, an Indian takeaway and three pubs to keep you fed and watered. There’s no need to haul firewood back to the site though, as logs are provided for the firepits that come with all accommodation units. Please note that fires may not be possible in certain weather conditions. Every pitch on site also has access to shower and toilet facilities, as well as a drinking water tap.

Pick this site for your break and you’ll be staying on a small, friendly site on a working farm where free-range chickens stroll around and you may be able to spot lambs in the right season. There’s always something going on, and the owners are very happy to answer questions or give tours to give guests a better insight into the farming life.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.

No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.

Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.

No electric barbecues allowed.

The site perfectly met our needs. The field was really quiet and there was plenty of space. The hot shower was amazing. Would definitely stay again if we needed to be in the area.
Favourite part was watching dozens of birds play a game on the telegraph cables above us, whilst sitting having our morning cuppa.

Hello. I am sorry that the toilets had a negative impact on your stay. We are currently researching different eco toilets for next year. Laura

Nice large, flat grassed area with no defined pitches. As only 6 bookings at a time we could have a nice big space set well apart. Friendly host with 2 lovely dogs that roam around freely and chickens to welcome me in the morning. Nice location for a walk to Stanstead House and close enough to drive to lots of nice places.

    Disliked:

One lousy couple who sat outside drinking all night, incredibly selfish and thankfully no reflection on other guests.

From the manager...

Hi David. Thanks for your review. I wish you had said something to me at the time, I'm very happy to speak to guests and remind them of our quiet time policy. Laura
