Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Simplicity and natural. Clean surroundings and very friendly staff.
Disliked: The ‘No Music Allowed’ rule. Because at least a low volume music could've turned up the vibe more. But we understand why it’s like that.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Been to a good number of campsites and this had the best pitch lay out by far, fire pit and bench within the pitch and the grass well kept. Shower was lovely and hot, good room to get changed. Multiple toilets. Pub and coop within walking distance. Football area. Washing up area was better than most but only one sink. Entrance gates being code locked. Other campers stuck to rules quiet times were quiet and kept the campsite clean.
Disliked: No host, would be nice if someone came round and said hello. £12 membership fee. Area between first entrance gate and second looked rough was worried when we first pulled in but after second gate was fine. No area for frisbee!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Greener camping club, talking to horses, spacious pitches, not much noise from other campers during the week, great walk from site to tilbury fort
Disliked: Boat noise, early rising children making lots of noise (6am) at weekends, firewood advertised but seemingly unavailable, gates a bit of a faff, only space for 1 car before waiting on road at first gate, no information prior to arrival, unaware gate code needed , didn’t meet owner or any person associated with the site. Only wouldn’t stay again because of boat noise.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Great quiet eco campsite, just off the estuary path and easy to walk to from the train station.
Disliked: People drive cars into the field and leave them there. Might be better if some wheel barrows were provided and cars were left in the car park and couldn’t get into camping field.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: We loved the location, the fact it is proper camping and doing minimal harm to the environment, it is peaceful, quiet, plenty of wildlife to revel in, the composting toilets were really clean and useable, the whole site is well kept, the rules are there to protect the site/wildlife and the environment not making it perfect/luxury for humans which my family and I are big fans of! Fire pits on each pitch too was great!
Disliked: Other users driving their cars on to the grassed area without considering the damage they can do to the pitch and the vegetation, due to it being a wetter time of the year!

Liked: The site is nice, it was quiet when we arrived and there was no disruption during the night. Eco toilets were something to get used to but seems like a good initiative!
Disliked: Very wet (not their fault) and we were unsure where to park our van as it was recommended not to drive on the grass.

Non-electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked: Spaciousness, quietness, lovely hot shower
Disliked: Not so much a dislike, but would benefit from hedges or something between pitches to help with water logging (or similar) - everywhere in the UK has had a lot of rain so not a unique challenge.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Very good shower, washing block and compost toilets. Clean and tidy site. Good facilities. Fire pits each pitch which we made use of two nights, was nice sitting there with a bottle of Port and fascinating watching massive cargo ships glide by in the distance over the sea wall, all lit up. I choose these type of campsites to get away from the city madness, so perfectly happy if no Wi-Fi or phone signal.
Disliked: First night there, there was a camper van that had two dogs that were kept outside in a kennel. So they constantly barked, how the dog owners slept I don’t know. Luckily they left the following day so from that point onwards we had good nights sleep. Sawdust buckets in toilets weren’t topped up every other day as stated on info sheets in the loo’s, had to rob from other toilets.
