  • Sausages, bacon and free-range eggs available on site
  • Near Drusillas Park, Knock Hatch Adventure Park and the South Downs

Hale Farm is a working, family-run farm in Sussex. Situated on the Weald Way at the head of the Cuckmere Valley, it is the perfect location for exploring the South Downs National Park, the High Weald and the Sunshine Coast by car, bicycle or on foot. There are two excellent pubs and a village shop all within walking distance from the campsite.

We offer spacious camping with no set pitches in beautiful countryside. New compost toilets and hot showers are now available on site. Campfires are welcomed in pre-dug firepits and we have logs and kindling for sale at a small extra cost. Families are very welcome.

Enjoy visiting our donkeys, pedigree flocks of Lleyn and Ryeland sheep, pygmy goats, our sweet ponies Tilly and Ted, free-range chickens, geese and ducks during your stay. We offer daily visits to meet and feed all the animals and we have produce available to buy so you can enjoy sausages and free range eggs for breakfast.

We look forward to your stay.

A fabulous site . The children loved being able to explore. The farm is open in the mornings to walk around and the child can feed the animals . We loved being able to sit around the fire in the evenings . The added bonus came on the Monday evening when a mobile bar arrived !! We would most defiantly recommend .

As first time campers we were made to feel very welcome, really liked that you could buy eggs sausages & bacon on the farm in the morning they were all delicious! & firewood was brought round to each camp in the evening if you wanted it, toilets were regularly cleaned. My son really enjoyed feeding the animals in the mornings. The owners were very friendly & took the time to listen to my very enthusiastic sons stories of what we had been up to. Would definitely recommend this campsite

Had a wonderful stay second time back as We all enjoyed it soo much last year, owners are lovely and very welcoming toilets showers and wash up area are always clean unless someone from the camp/field miss uses them but they are cleaned on a regular basis
The owners have added an extra water hose two more toilets and two extra wash up areas which have running hot water which not all campsites have, they are alway stocked up with washing up liquid and there is never a shortage of loo roll :-)
There are only 2 showers so can be a little wait first thing in the morning and are a little tight

Book in was at 2 but never knowing traffic we did get there a little early obviously after 12 and giving Scott or Ruth time to check field is clean after guests have lefted
We got there at 1pm not intentionally and there wasn't any issues asking to wait or come back which was nice. Ruth comes a short while after to introduce herself and Scott comes around at 5pm or a short while after with dinner :-) (bacon eggs and sausages and wood/kindle)

Farm is open 9 till 10 were they sell bacon an eggs again if u wish for breakfast obviously limited supplies.
As well as feed for the pigs chickens/ hens which is only 20p a bag
They also have sheep goats horses donkeys baby piglets and as well as 6 kittens which were able to be seen that week we went

We all really enjoyed our stay and will be back again thank you Scott and Ruth

Lovely relaxed atmosphere on the campsite. The kids all had an amazing time disappearing into the small area of woodland with a tribe of other children that they met there - spending the days having adventures and making dens. We loved our morning visits to the animals and buying tasty meat and eggs from the farmers! There was a beautiful country walk to a wonderfully quirky old pub (the six bells ) that we would highly recommend for food.

    Disliked:

The loos!!! Although they were cleaned fairly regularly they were often on a mess and the design of the actual toilets meant that they are completely inappropriate for young children if they need anything more than a wee!!! Unfortunately this is the one reason that would stop me from returning.

Nice location & loved the animals. Also the camp fire set up was fab & helped add to the great atmosphere

    Disliked:

The compost toilets were not clean & design fault for children with the blue tray at the front made it difficult for them to not make a mess. Only 4 toilets for whole field - not enough & queues were frequent. There was dog poo around our pitch too which was disappointing.
