Bluebell microlodge
Liked: We had a wonderful time staying in one of the pods with our young kids (5 and 2 years old). It was the perfect setting for the kids to run freely and play all day long. The playground was very close to our pod, so our kids made friends with other kids camping and absolutely loved it.
The pod itself was very clean and well-presented. It was cold in the evenings, but we were snug and comfortable in our pod. The communal bathrooms were regularly cleaned with showers that are accessible 24/7.
There was loads to do with kids in the local area. For us a highlight was doing a 5km hike in the Hastings Country Park. It was a wonderful holiday and we highly recommend this campsite.

Liked: Lovely place, clean facilities and handy shop. Allowed fires and BBQS. Dog friendly. Great play area for kids. Really close to Battle Abbey.
Disliked: Allows large groups - night one we were kept awake until 3am and second night until midnight. People driving around the campsite field with kids steering while other children playing. Also people speeding up and down the field driving to the shower block!! Great to have a site which is quite free and easy, but actually felt quite nervous about safety at this site due to the above. There could so easily have been an awful accident. There didn’t seem to be any rules or staff on site other than shop opening times. Unfortunately I wouldn’t book here again with my little one for this reason.

Liked: Location, shower and toilet facilities

Disliked: There seemed to be no enforcement of noise curfew so both nights I was kept awake (or woken at 2am) by large groups

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Clean and comfortable facilities (toilets/showers in a small outhouse)
Lots of space between campers
Convenient location for seaside and town
Bought wood/kindling set at reasonable price
Disliked: Near a road so could hear cars driving fast along it
No nice footpaths directly from the site
shame they don’t offer fire pits

Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked: Peaceful, clean facilities, reasonably priced.
Beautiful countryside views from site.
Allow campfires. Pick your own pitch up spot.
Disliked: Sad to see scorch marks in field. Not the sites fault but maybe include a rule that all fires must be off the ground.
A noisy group of teenagers may have disturbed some campers. We were far away not to be bothered.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Lovely big open space, no crowding, loads of privacy as tents only pitched round the outside of the field. Plus- horses in the next field!
Disliked: Pitch wasn’t too even (hill); sinks in washing up area weren’t very clean; other than that, very nice and we enjoyed ourselves a lot :)

Liked: Big open space, not too crowded. Toilets and showers clean and pretty! Small shop on site where we could purchase firewood for camp fire…bonus! Friendly staff.
Disliked: I booked this site on the basis of having a wonderful view of fields in the distance as shown in one of the photos. However this could only be seen in the washing up/sink area. The sinks were not particularly clean and no hot water.
