Rural views but with an extra dose of comfort? Make your way to the mighty-fine East Sussex countryside, where Scallow Campsite sits in a rural spot between East Hoathly and Waldron. The glamping pods here are really rather cosy and they each sleep two (either close friends or a couple). Each one is equipped with a gas burner, refrigerator, TV and wifi, so you’ll be well set for facilities and entertainment. Supplies are on hand at a farm shop 10 minutes' drive away and there are more shops in Uckfield or Heathfield, which are both 15 minutes’ drive away. Countryside rambles? Sorted – this is an excellent base for such things. For gentler days, there are historical houses and gardens within 25 minutes’ drive of the site. As for those wanting to visit the coast (for fish and chips, a dip or a day of games by the sea, perhaps), the lively scenes at Eastbourne (35 minutes) and Brighton (40 minutes) are also well within reach. Whenever you fancy yourself a pint or a glass of rosé, or perhaps a lush dinner, it's handy to know there’s a pub 20 minutes’ walk away from the pods and another two pubs five and 10 minutes' drive away respectively. For those times when you’re taking on the role of chef yourself (or just fancy keeping warm while you sip a glass of wine), the outside of each pod has a decking area with a chiminea and a barbecue. Other handy facilities include separate showers and toilets, together with an outdoors washing-up area served by hot water.

Liked: The farm was lovely and quiet and the pods were super cosy! The beds were really comfy and the welcome hamper was a lovely touch (: Tim was fantastic at communicating in the run up to our stay, really helped the process run smoothly!

Liked: Myself & my adult daughter stayed here for a couple of nights to visit Brighton & surrounding area and wow perfect, what a fantastic pod, very modern & clean with everything you need. including pod wifi. Local village not far & very nice.
The generous host added a nice little basket with essentials of tea, coffee milk & a few treats.
Nice quiet site, which was lovely, also each pod has its own bathroom and within the pod itself it has all your kitchen essentials. 100% would stay again & recommend.

Disliked: Site Lighting - middle of the night going to the bathroom very dark even with a torch. Would not let this put me off staying again just an observation.

Liked: Absolutely loved our stay, the pod was lovely it was so clean, had everything you needed and the little hamper was really nice!! Such a quiet area which is exactly what we needed, everything had so much thought in to it, was really nice having our own locked bathroom aswell thought that was such a good idea. Will definitely book up again.

Liked: Beautiful location, easy to find and self-check in was a great experience as well. Well labelled parking for all the pods and the facilities were clean and easily sign posted as well. Cabin was clean and comfortable, really good size and warm too though we didn’t need that as it was fairly warm the night we stayed.
A big bonus was the quiet time between the hours of 10pm and 8am, really quiet making for peaceful sleep. We were also really lucky with the location that due to having clear skies the night we stayed we could very clearly see the stars and the Milky Way with our naked eye. Absolutely wouldn’t hesitate coming back again.

Local attractions

Brighton (40 minutes’ drive) is a biggie for all those wanting to soak up some lively seaside scenes. Whether you go for a stroll down The Lanes, sink your teeth into the history of the Royal Pavilion, ride the British Airways i360 or head for Brighton beach and Brighton Pier, you’re bound to have an active day indeed. Hastings (50 minutes) has plenty of historical nautical-themed days out too. The town has a fishing and shipwreck museum, a Norman castle and cliff railways for views out over the big blue. If that has you begging for some more coastal views, head to Beachy Head (35 minutes), the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain. Want some rural air with your history? Pick from three National Trust sites. Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
There is no reception at this site. Please check in at the The Pod has a Key Box instead.
The site will send you further check-in information 7 day(s) before your arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 7 day(s) of arrival.
Modifications are subject to a £20.00 fee.

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Bookings must not be for more than 28 consecutive nights.
Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
Refunds within the indicated cancellation period are only possible if the site is able to relet your unit/pitch.
