What customers say
This family-run site is praised for its friendly welcome, helpful staff, and beautiful woodland surroundings. Visitors highlight the clean and well-maintained facilities, particularly the hot showers and the unique 24-hour honesty shop. The location is convenient for exploring Hastings and Battle, with easy train access. While most experiences are positive, some guests mentioned a need for more toilets and showers during peak times, and a few noted issues with pitch quality or Wi-Fi. Overall, it's highly recommended for a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Rural setting, exclusive feel to this site, personal toilets/showers to hire, honesty shop, park, woodland walk, fishing lake, site was clean and well kept great that you could have barbecues and small camp fires that you can buy from the campsite - overall I really nice friendly campsite to visit
Disliked No dislikes - wouldn’t have minded chocolate to buy in the shop is my only suggestion

Smelly Uneven and Dirty Pitch Avoid…..
Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Welcoming arrival.
Disliked Smell from stagnant water stunk adjacent to pitch 45 made our stay really unpleasant. If you get offered this pitch or one next to it don’t bother. It was like living next to an open sewer.
Pitch itself was diabolical. Accepted this has been a dry year but it was stoney uneven and like camping on a patch of dirt. It is embarrassing they even offer this. I’ve been camping lots of times before in dry seasons and never seen anything like it. Not one blade of grass.
Our tent groundsheets etc were in a terrible state and it stayed dry. I have photos.
We only stayed because our son was looking forward to it but glad it’s was 2 nights only.
The pitches generally are too crammed in so if you like space may not be for you.
Limited toilets and showers even with the private bathrooms 3 isn’t enough.
Ps I’ve never left a bad review before on pitch up and accept camping isn’t always perfect but this was awful.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Small and friendly site in a lovely rural location but only a few minutes drive from Battle and Hastings. Great site for families. Liked the honesty shop. Good mix of types of pitches. The bell tents looked fab and would try them next time.
Disliked The only criticism really is sometimes the little separate bathrooms linked to certain pitches could give off an aroma which was slightly unpleasant as our tent pitch backed onto another persons bathroom building and it wafted mainly in the morning when showers and toilets etc being used more
I’m sure not every pitch would have this issue , could’ve been just ours.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked The location was good, the team are very friendly and helpful. The pizzas and breakfast are very good quality, we loved the fire pits. Overall we had a good holiday but would not return to this site
Disliked The touring pitches are very small, there are only 4 toilets and three showers for anyone that has not booked a private bathroom
Which is not enough, the big shower needs a refurb as the paint is falling off the ceiling and the door to enter is broken. The road onto site is very tight and bumpy once you come of the tarmac.

From the manager: Pleased to hear you enjoyed your holiday, certainly in terms of the very regular conversation had with all the staff in your 2 week stay no mention was made of any issues and pleased you found our team friendly and helpful.
We welcome feedback and the family bathroom is receiving a new clad ceiling to match those recently done in the other showers in next couple of weeks having had a busy summer, its ready for its annual freshen up.
The toilet and bathroom situation, you mention en suites are available of which there are 12 , 11 lodges with toilets and showers,2 bell tents with ensuite and the communal toilets you mention so in all 27 not sure its a fair reflection to say we have 4 toilets and 3 showers, But we are always adding new and will make more ensuite pitches next year as we continue to improve.
You had a caravan, awning and tipi tent on your pitch which is maybe why it felt cramped, Our pitches are a minimum 10 x 8 m as advertised. We are over the winter going to make some serviced pitches for next season.

Family site with friendly staff.
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Friendly site with help on hand if needed. Honesty shop available for treats including marshmallows for toasting. If you need to book a fireplace, go to the site's website for a form. The site was very busy but because it is well designed you do not feel over crowded. Wood walk for the dog to be off lead for a while. Hobby fishing lake at no extra charge but no luck this time. The WiFi was not strong but there was an option to buy, which one of us did and it was much better.

Would 100% visit again! Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Campsite very secluded. Lots of amenities on site, coffee machine, books, DVDs, snacks, drinks, firewood, kindling, marshmallows, skewers… you name it! Beautiful little nature walk and a lake at the bottom of the site. The staff were incredibly friendly! We arrived quite late due to an accident on the M25, and the staff were great and very accommodating.
