  • Adults-only Lancashire campsite close to the attractions of Blackpool
  • A 20-minute drive to Blackpool Pleasure Beach; 55 to the south Lakes
  • Farm shop on site; a pub within five minutes’ walk, a shop 10 minutes
If you’re looking for a restful adults-only location for a Lancashire camping break close to one of the most famous seaside resorts in the UK, then Norcross may be the very spot for you. Approached by a rural lane, the grass pitches are on a level field sheltered by trees, yet this secluded camping field is just 20 minutes’ drive from the bright lights and mega-attractions of Blackpool. In fact, Norcross is close to lots of places: you can be ordering a pint in the local pub within five minutes’ walk, or carry on to the village of Newton with Scales (10 minutes’ walk) for a basics shop, cash point and post office. Hop in the car and head to the market town of Kirkham (five minutes’ drive) to pick up bits and bobs in the supermarket or bag a takeaway, while a 20-minute drive will see you in Lytham St Annes for beach walks, a Victorian pier and playing golf on a prestigious links course. Amenities on site are straightforward: a couple of loos and recycling facilities, but you can buy fresh eggs for a hearty breakfast fry up, seasonal fruit or veg and plants from the owners’ farm shop – they also run a smallholding with sheep and free-range hens.

What customers say

Norcross is a quiet, adults-only campsite with spacious, clean, and mostly level pitches, often with EHU and water. Visitors praise the friendly and helpful owners, the immaculately clean toilets and shower facilities, and the peaceful atmosphere. Its location is ideal for exploring local attractions, with a bus service and a pub within walking distance. Some minor points include compact toilet cubicles and a need for a clearer entrance sign.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Welcomed on arrival by Andy who was very friendly pleasant and helpful.

This place is kept immaculate from the supersize pitches fully serviced ,and grass to the toilets everything very clean and tidy.

A credit to the owner.

We took advantage of Annie’s fresh fruit and veg shop which was on site, also the garden centre which had a great variety of plants and shrubs (sorry forgot the lady’s name but she was also friendly and knowledgeable).

It’s a fantastic site as a base to venture out.Local pub a few minutes walk and Kirkham around 10 minute drive.

Disliked Nothing will be returning ,perfect Thank you.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The site had huge flat hard standing pitches. Electricity supply was very good, as was the water pressure. The cost of the metered electricity was excellent, which made this site a bargain. Very easy to find and close enough to plenty of things to do. Great welcome and easy check out. Plenty of toilets. Quiet site as no children or road noise. Recycling 😀

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (two person)

Liked Nice flat field for tents around the outer edge, and the ground was soft enough for tent pegs to easily go into the ground. Also the ground was not lumpy and even without an air bed, you could likely sleep on the ground as it was.
The grass was kept nice and short, and on my last day, they were mowing it again. price was good at £18 per night.
The shower and toilets were clean, and there were 2 sets of 2 toilets.
I was left alone for most of the time, which I preferred. But there was a mobile number on display if you had any queries.
It was easy to get to, and far enough away from the main road, so I could barely hear any traffic noise.
It was about 20 mins from Blackpool, and there was a pub a short walk away and take aways in the two local towns which were a short drive away.
There were no children which was fantastic.
There was a food shop, that seemed to be open all night, selling various veggies and eggs. But never went in.
They had a large bin, and recycling section as you were leaving the site. Which was over flowing on my first night, but due to the bank holiday, and a family event some people were having there. (Who were quite quite and respectful)

I couldn't see anywhere you could charge your phone, but I'm assuming you could have asked.

Disliked It was very full when I got there, and only two spaces left. But this wasn't a problem.
The toilet blocks were very small, so if you were overweight you may have had problems getting in, as between the toilet at the door, there wasn't much space.
There was only 1 shower, which cost £1, but you just put money into a tube, so you could still shower if you had no cash that day (I put in £3 on my last day)
The shower was good, but it was a tin building with a good gap between the walls and the roof, which meant that when the wind blew, it came into the shower, so fine during the summer, but wouldn't want to use when it's cold. There was a curtain between you and where you could store your clothes, and 2 sets of hooks, but no seat or place to put your shoes to keep them dry (,I hooked the shoe laces onto one of the hooks.)
I think they are building a new shower block.
The sheep around the edge are mostly quiet, apart from at 7.30 every morning, while they demand food. They were fed around 8am. So might have been better to feed the sheep closest to where the tents were still pitched first, to quieter them sooner.
There was dogs barking at a distance all night, far enough away you could zone it out after a while, but I would imagine would cause issues to campers own dogs if they are barkers,

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (two person)

Liked This is a well organised and welcoming campsite. The warm welcome doubled as a friendly double check on who was entering the camp. The pitches were spacious and the necessary facilities were basic but well maintained and scrupulously clean.
The site has a handy shop and garden centre, as well as walking distance to a pub restaurant.
The location provides easy access to Lytham St Anne’s, Blackpool, Thornton Clevelys and Fleetwood. More locally there are many large well known supermarkets with cafes where cooked breakfasts are readily and economically accessible.
The owners here are doing a great job. I am very happy to have discovered this lovely site and hope to be able to return soon!
Thank you Anne and Andrew.

Disliked The grass pitch was ok but could be flatter still.

Local attractions

Blackpool (20 minutes’ drive) is the main event here, and the family attractions come thick and fast: daredevil rollercoaster rides and spectacular musicals at the Pleasure Beach, snorkelling with sharks at Sea Life Blackpool, and encounters with royalty at Madame Tussauds. That’s just for starters though; don’t neglect the 4D movies and panoramic views from the Blackpool Tower Eye or miss the chance to see rare Bornean orangutans at Blackpool Zoo. Children keen to see more wildlife? Try flying displays by protected raptors at the Owl and Bird Of Prey Sanctuary (20 minutes) or introduce younger kids to the friendly alpacas and ponies at Farmer Parrs Animal World (half an hour). If you prefer to be out in the fresh country air, active families can have a rip-roaring run around on the inflatables at Blackpool Wake Park (15 minutes). Easy access to Junction 3 of the M55 (10 minutes’ drive) makes it a complete doddle to reach the walking and cycling routes of the southern Lake District National Park (55 minutes) or the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (40 minutes).
