  • Family-run touring park on the Fylde coast
  • Modern amenities suitable for families and disabled guests
  • On the edge of Freckleton, 25 minutes' drive from Blackpool
You'll be in a most convenient countryside and seaside setting when you trot along to Donkey Creek Farm Caravan Site. Countryside – and wanders: this pretty rural place is on the outskirts of the Lancashire town of Freckleton and on the edge of the Lancashire Coastal Way meandering for 137 miles between Merseyside and Cumbria. Seaside: Donkey Creek is on the Fylde coast, eight and a half miles from Lytham, its sands and those four golf courses. Your nifty setting is 25 minutes' drive from the illuminating lights of Blackpool for amusements and shows, and 15 minutes from Preston for pubs and grub. Those who must have their hols served up with sparkling amenities are also well sorted here; Donkey Creek's essentials are of the thoroughly modern sort and include plenty to keep guests of all types comfortable. The bright amenities block has underfloor heating, a family bathroom and a disabled-access bathroom with walk-in shower alongside the well-kept toilets and showers; there's a laundry room for ease of cleaning sandy togs, and a veg prep room with freezer facility is also to hand for guests' use. A selection of groceries and camping/touring kit is at the site shop; for other bits, Freckleton village centre is 15 minutes' walk away.

What customers say

Donkey Creek Farm is a highly-rated, immaculately clean and well-maintained touring site. Pitches are spacious, level, and fully serviced. Facilities, including the toilet and shower blocks, are consistently praised for their cleanliness and modern amenities. Staff are frequently described as friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The site's quiet location is appreciated, yet it remains conveniently within walking distance of local pubs, shops, and takeaways. Easy access to bus routes for Lytham and Blackpool is also a key benefit. The occasional noise from the nearby airfield is noted but generally not considered a significant disturbance.

Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Great facility’s clean and well thought out, friendly staff , quiet , good size pitches and only a small amount of levelling needed . Electric , drainage and water all easily accessible on the pitch, several toilet waste points and a nice large motorhome service point

Disliked On the site its self no negatives for us , there are limited planes taking off and landing in the Warton aerodrome in the day but that was fine for us . the site is exposed so you do need to be careful with awnings and the like when its windy . There is the Lancashire way walk that goes round the Warton aerodrome to Lytham (it is dog friendly - although we did not have a dog) however you need to be aware that when we were there cattle were on the coastal part of the path round the aerodrome. At the time we went (end April) we had issues with them as we were able to drop off the path to the coast on the Lytham side but on the way back, they were gathered on the path around the aerodrome. There was a brown bull several cows and 30+ bullocks from 4 feet to large . the large bullocks became aggressive as we waited for them to pass and we had to retire quickly meaning a return to Lytham and getting the bus back as there was no way to bypass the heard . This is not a site issue but more for awareness. I grew up on a dairy farm and it did shake me up.

Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Spacious level pitch, close to amenities. Plenty of wildlife around the campsite.

Disliked Our morning wakeup call from Jet engine aeroplanes, not light aircraft at 8am every day. The aerodrome maybe 2 miles away but the runway is less than 200 metres away from the campsite.
There is a road next to the campsite the other side of the hedgerow which has 8-10 double decker coaches leaving the industrial park early in the mornings every day so if your not woken up by the planes you will be by the coaches if your pitch is at the bottom of the campsite.

From the manager: Thank you for your positive comments, we appreciate your feed back. I am sorry our park did not reach your expectations.
Our website does explain we are in close proximity to BAe runway, few plane take off and don't fly at the weekend.
The busses you mention are school transport so only pass the park morning and early evening.
We do apologise for any disruption or inconvenience this caused.
We would like to welcome you back to Donkey Creek farm and maybe offer a different pitch in the future.
Thank you for your understanding.

Liked Great site , well kept with spacious level pitches easy to set up our caravan and lovely immaculate shower block .Dog friendly with dog walking field . Good tv signal and WiFi (Happy husband ! ) well located for Fylde coast . Ship Inn nearby and a few shops etc in Freckleton village . Yes , some traffic noise from nearby road but didn’t bother us and occasional small jets taking off from BAe runway not a problem only managed to see once or twice husband disappointed!
