  • Plenty of activities, play areas, pool, crazy golf, arcade and bar
  • Within easy reach of the Forest of Bowland, Pennines and Lake District
You might fall over when you clap an eye on Beacon Fell View, a family-friendly park in 30 acres of landscaped parkland with rather spectacular views over the Ribble Valley. Slap bang in the middle of Lancashire, the park is conveniently placed for day trips to Blackpool but within easy reach of the Forest of Bowland, the Pennines, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales; golf, fishing and walks are all available close by too. Firmly family-friendly, Beacon Fell View has many little touches to jazz up your break: purchase a pass at the poolside to access the indoor heated pool and paddling pool. During the high season, there is entertainment every night, as well as children's activities from 10am to 1pm every day. (In the low season, the children's activities run on weekends from 12pm to 2pm instead.) Adults can use their kids-free time to watch Sky Sports or down a drink in the adults-only lounge bar. (A family bar is available on site too.) Amenities include hot showers, a covered dishwashing area and a launderette, and kids can additionally live large at the indoor and outdoor play areas, crazy golf and arcade with amusements and a pool table. Pitchwise, all is level, grassy and within five minutes’ walk of reception; guests have access to water points and can park their car by their pitch. For supplies, nearby Longridge has a well-stocked farmers’ market, a couple of supermarkets, two decent pubs serving good food and – quids in again for the kids – an outdoor adventure centre with everything from water orbs to fencing.

What customers say

This campsite features friendly staff and excellent facilities, including a swimming pool and play areas, which are popular with families. However, some visitors highlight issues with touring pitches being unkempt, uneven, and cramped, with a lack of maintenance in some areas. While the clubhouse and entertainment are generally well-received, cleanliness in toilet blocks and the general upkeep of some facilities require attention.

Electric gravel touring pitch (large)

Liked We enjoyed the park and would return. Special mention to zoe from the fun team she was absolutely brilliant with the kids and made my little ones time there.

Disliked Touring pitches very small considering we booked a large pitch. The arcade could change the 10p machine for 2ps

Electric gravel touring pitch (medium)

Liked Beautiful scenery, clean showers and toilets, friendly shopkeeper and lovely people on the site itself. Really good for families! Plenty space for the kids to ride their bikes around and feels extremely safe to let the older children do their own thing. Club offers good entertainment and has lovely views!

Disliked Park equipment could do with a clean and a little update, and more for the smaller children to go on.

Liked Club house , little onsite shop
Swimming pool , views , toilet block

Ladies toilet block and shower area poorly maintained.
Space between pitches very tight for manuver
Site rubbish bins over flowing and not emptied regularly.
Swimming pool toilets are a disgrace
Mini golf great attraction but again poorly maintained and reception only had 3 golf balls available.

Electric gravel touring pitch (large)

Liked The site has lovely views, the pool was lovely and clean slightly cold but not too cold. Toilet & shower block where clean and tidy.

Disliked Pitches where down a one way cul de sac where there was no room to turn a caravan around without difficulty. The pitch we were on we could only get our caravan on sideways so then when it was tim to leave we had to fully manually turn the caravan to face the way out. The pitches are not worth the £45 per night it is a shame that this lets it down as all the other amenities were spot on. Made our trip quite stressful without a motor mover

Electric gravel touring pitch (large)

Liked Handy for overnight stay on way to Blackpool Airshow.

Toilet and shower block clean.

TV reception ok.

Disliked The large pitch we were allocated was on an end and too short for our motorhome so we had to go in sideways. We were unable to level so on a slant.

No information given on check in apart from code for barrier and map, but pitch numbers on the map were unreadable.

No guidelines on quiet time - is there one? It was noisy at night, adults talking loudly outside their pods/caravans and children behind us running, screaming and laughing until midnight.

WiFi is none existent.

Don't think we could've stayed more than one night.

Liked Nothing

Disliked Everything. Overgrown pitches, showers were disgusting, toilets blocked 2 days in a row, the bar area when opened at 2pm filthy, floors sticky, went outside to finish our drink. Never again worse site in 5 years

Local attractions

Beacon Hill Country Park and the Forest of Bowland are mere minutes away by car and both have miles of walking routes across a range of landscapes including woodland, hills and farmland. Climb to the top of Beacon Hill to see landmarks in all directions including Belvoir Castle, Lincoln Cathedral and the hills of the Peak District. Said to be the inspiration for Tolkien’s Middle Earth (which might make you want to furry foot it there immediately), the Ribble Valley has the 70-mile path the Ribble Way, shopping in towns such as Clitheroe or munching one’s way around the Ribble Valley Food Trail. The River Ribble is a big hook for anglers landing chub, barbel, trout and salmon. City day trips are in all directions too: the kids’ eyes will light up with a trip to Blackpool… and for shopping, the Trafford Centre and Liverpool One of Manchester and Liverpool respectively should empty your wallet nicely…
