  • Luxury rural glamping in the peaceful Lancashire countryside
  • A 10-minute drive from Pendle Hill; 25 minutes from Skipton
  • Fully-equipped pods with sweeping valley views
Modern luxury and timeless country views combine at Valley View, a peaceful rural glamping retreat with sweeping views over a green Lancashire Valley. Located a mile and a half from the traditional village of Blacko, this site has a collection of pods that have been designed to fit in with the local landscape, with high-end wooden finishings that create a real sense of calm both inside and out. All of these ensuite pods at this adults-only site come with a few little extras included, so you can look forward to treats like luxury dressing gowns and cotton linen, high-end toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities. These pods are self-contained, with a niftily designed mini kitchen equipped with a two-ring gas hob and all crockery, cutlery and utensils. At the same time, there's space to spill over into the outdoors in good weather, with a barbecue and outdoor seating area on hand for your pod's exclusive use. Valley View is one of the most pet-friendly glampsites around, so feel free to bring your four-legged friend along for adventures in the local area. You might like to take him or her to the top of Pendle Hill and back (10 minutes' drive) to get your blood pumping, with plenty of other walks on offer in the nearby Yorkshire Dales National Park (20 minutes) or Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (five minutes).

Local attractions

There's a huge range of walks to check out in the surrounding area, whether you're in the mood for scaling the slopes of witchy Pendle Hill (10 minutes' drive), wandering between the trees and willow sculptures at Skipton Castle Woods (25 minutes) or hiking over the moors to Malham Cove (35 minutes), a craggy cliff where peregrine falcons make their nests. Meanwhile, down the road in the village of Barrowford (five minutes), there are all sorts of shops, cafés and bars to visit, while Colne's outlet village at Boundary Mill (10 minutes) has plenty more opportunities to browse your favourite brands. For something a little different, you could also head over to the model town of Saltaire (45 minutes) in West Yorkshire, where a huge Victorian mill has been beautifully converted into a collection of boutique shops, art galleries and cafés. The area's not short of big-hitter attractions either: Skipton (25 minutes) has its castle and canal boat tours, Burnley (25 minutes) has National Trust-run Gawthorpe Hall, while the nearby Forest of Bowland is home to the very popular Bowland Wild Boar Park (40 minutes).
