  • Peaceful and spacious wildlife haven in the smart Ashton Hall Estate
  • Lancaster city and the Forest of Bowland both within six miles
  • An 11-hole seaview golf course, woodland walks and fishing in the Lune
Rock up here for a restful retreat among the comely grounds of Ashton Hall Caravan Park… Within Ashton Hall’s extensive estate are an 11-hole golf course with spectacular seaward vista, as well as a garden centre and café, all bordered by ancient woodlands and the River Lune, and direct access to the Lancashire Coastal Way and the Lune Estuary Footpath. Your holiday days will surely fill up quickly with all there is to do around the locale too – if you manage to tear yourself away from the site, that is – as the Forest of Bowland, the Lune Estuary and Lancaster city are all within six miles. On site, there's loads of room to wander around the grounds or in the adjoining forest for woodland walking routes, nature trails and cycle paths, many of which will take you from the site directly to the banks of the River Lune. On top of all this, the site takes pride in its sparklingly clean unisex toilet and shower facilities in a modern stone-built bathroom block with underfloor heating. The building includes an accessible bathroom/ family facility, a vanity area with washbasins, big mirrors and a hairdryer, a laundry room with washing machines and tumble dryers, and a covered washing-up area – like the site itself, the amenities block is safely secure and accessed via a secure key code. A local pub and restaurant lies within a mile of the estate, and Lancaster is three miles away.

Seafield fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: This site has been neglected. It says it was hard standing and grass pitch…. But due to overgrowth you can see what is what. The showers although modern to some campsites lacked cleanliness . Dirty floors. Dirty worktops by sinks, soiling on stools… to name a few I could go on but the review would be forever! It looked like the site had not been tendered too properly for several months. Lots of pot holes on site and the road leading to it. Calling them a full serviced pitches is a stretch of someone’s imagination. It’s a shame as I could imagine in years gone by this would have been a great site. We were expecting a lot more for the £39 per night we paid! See the photos we took. Terrible site will not be back and will definitely not recommend staying here for £39 per night. You get a better pitch elsewhere.

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Very rural area but a short walk to cycle path and estuary, and a good garden centre with extensive shop and cafe. Excellent showers with underfloor heating . Very helpful owner

Disliked: Not really worth the price. Small washing machine and separate dryer was enormously expensive and would not encourage anyone to use them unless for a very small amount of clothes. No WiFi . Pitches a bit sloping

Seafield fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Great location. Quiet and felt really safe here. Lots to do with a garden centre (dog friendly cafe) and golf club, easy access to wonderful estuary walks and a local pub only a short walk away. Clean facilities and friendly site manager. Huge pitch spaces. Lots of wildlife, relaxing break away.

Disliked: Maybe a couple of dog poo bins - one at each end? Not essential but very helpful. Other than that nothing at all. Loved it!

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: A favourite site of ours! Been coming for a couple of years, fabulous amenities always clean, beautiful sunsets, lots of walks, fab for dogs, peaceful and 2 excellent pubs with good grub nearby. Glasson dock and my favourite sound of curlews, just perfect….Roger is very friendly. As previously mentioned this is not for those wanting a ‘warden and caravan club’ Roger is creating a better environment for wildlife and working on the woodland. Back again soon thank you!
