Midi camping pod (medium, two person)

Liked: We stayed in the mini and midi pods. They were cosy warm and comfortable. Friendly welcome from owner. Plenty of space around. Complementary wood and firelighters for firepit. Nice pub nearby for food.

Disliked: Toilets and showers could do with updating. Unfortunately there was a blockage in the ladies of all toilets on the last morning.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: The pitches were tidy, level and well spaced with ease of access to hook up point. The site were accommodating with arrival times and available for a late night call for assistance. Staff were regularly checking on facilities and super nice people.

Disliked: Changing facility attached to showers was a little cramped.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Very clean well maintained site

Disliked: Didn’t mind paying for the shower but the sign said 5 minutes of water but the timer started as soon as you put the £1 in (couldn’t put 2 in for extra time) and it was outside the door so it took a minute or so to remove clothes and get the shower running to the right temp before getting in. Could do with a sign on the road opposite the entrance as it creeps up on you

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Clean showers, quiet field, play area for children

Disliked: Only 2 showers in ladies and in gents. Pay showers £1 for 5 mins . The metre was outside the cubicle and timer started straight away so it was a rush to get unclothed and in the shower. Washing up facility very limited . One tap 2 sinks. Water very slow flowing and not very hot. This is a basic requirement.

Mini camping pod (small, two person)

Liked: Great site with lovely views. We stayed in a mini pod which was very comfy and well insulated. We had trouble finding it at first, but after a quick call to the number on the invoice, we had someone show us there in five minutes. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The free WiFi was a nice addition too.

Local attractions

Fancy stretching your legs? The Turton and Entwistle Reservoir (10 minutes’ drive) is probably the closest place for a walk in the woods, or you could head a little further afield for the many trails of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (35 minutes) or venture into the Yorkshire Dales from Skipton (45 minutes). Sticking to the outdoor attractions, you could also meet the animals at Smithills Open Farm or the Owl & Bird of Prey Sanctuary, admire the Singing Ringing Tree art installation or stroll around the Victorian gardens of Astley Hall (all about 20 minutes away). And of course there’s always the option of some sandy time at Blackpool beach (40 minutes)… For a bit of urban scenery, take a trip to Blackburn (10 minutes) for the museum, cathedral and ice arena, or set off for Manchester (45 minutes) and the Imperial War Museum North, National Football Museum and plenty of places to eat, drink and make merry.
