Pitches alongside a picnic bench

  • Small adults-only site surrounded by the Lancashire countryside
  • A 10-minute drive from White Scar Cave and the Yorkshire Three Peaks
  • Well-maintained site on the banks of a beck; dogs allowed on leads
From waterfall trails to caves and the Yorkshire Three Peaks, there’s quite a number of natural beauty spots around Low House Farm Caravan Site… and it’s no surprise you’ll want somewhere peaceful to rest up in between nature trails and summits, as the Lake District National Park is just 20 minutes' drive away. Thankfully, this small site is just the place for that. Surrounded by the quiet countryside with its own little beck, it’s easy to rest your feet here, perhaps while sitting at the picnic bench or relaxing on one of the rocks alongside the beck. The site is well-maintained and managed carefully, so there’s a water supply and waste disposal area for your convenience – and dogs are welcome on leads, too. Walking may very well be one of the first things on your mind when you arrive in this area, as there are trails, waterfalls and access to the Yorkshire Three Peaks from Ingleton, 10 minutes’ drive away – but first, tasty food can be tracked down in the restaurant opposite the site or the local pub a couple of miles away. Kirkby Lonsdale is another excellent foodie spot. Five minutes’ drive away from the site, it has a variety of pubs, shops and restaurants, so you’ll be able to sort yourself out in the way of supplies as well as tasty dishes.

Liked So quiet! EHU and water on each pitch with great WiFi signal. If you have a dog there's a huge enclosed dog area. Perfect weekend getaway.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Very basic site in beautiful surroundings

Disliked Most pitches require levellers. We managed without, but we were the only one and we did mind being slightly on the wonky side!

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Piece and quiet, lovely views, easy access and exit, firm track, level pitch, short walk to local shop/ post office/ bus service.

Disliked No notice about grey waste, seen visitors put in toilet tank and one emptied into ditch. Clarity would be welcomed.

Liked Lovely clean site. Farmer Robin made sure everything was good (came over for a chat) even mowing the fields ( including the dog exercise area)
Spent 3 nights starting on the Mayday bank holiday (Temp 29*c) really enjoyed the views and peace.
WiFi is good we were running a smart tv and 2 mobile phones at the same time with no problem.
Highly recommended
Will definitely book again.

Disliked Slight road noise from main road but you soon got used to it.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Loved the huge dog field for our two cockapoos to run around and play. Location is great too. Kirkby Lonsdale is a lovely place to wander around. TV signal was great. For a basic site it was good with electric hook up, water and waste water disposal point. Beautiful sunsets.

Disliked There was WiFi, however no details on how to access. Had to use mobile data which wasn't a problem for us but may be to some. I think an email before arriving with an introduction, wifi details and details on who to contact for a problem would be a good idea. That said, we would definitely visit again.

Local attractions

Mad about wildlife? Perhaps surprisingly, Ingleborough Cave (20 minutes' drive) is high up there, as aside from the cave itself, there’s a nature trail above ground. It’s just one of many geological hotspots around here, as White Scar Cave (10 minutes) is within striking distance too, and this one’s the longest show cave in Britain. Don’t worry too much about getting lost though, as there are guided tours. It might seem like Mother Nature’s showing off her feathers elsewhere too, especially at Malham Cove (40 minutes), where there’s a large limestone cliff in the shape of an amphitheatre and at Barbon Beck (10 minutes), a natural swimming hole with a waterside walk. Walking’s all the rage in the Lake District National Park (20 minutes), of course, but one route that hiking keen beans will likely want to conquer is the 24-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge over Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent. As for some manmade entertainment, a look around the market town of Settle (20 minutes) or a trip to the local open-air swimming pool (10 minutes) will surely do for a leisurely afternoon out.
