Fancy a view over Morecambe Bay with your morning coffee? You got it – and it’ll still be there once cocktail hour rolls around in the evening too. As the name suggests, Bay View Holiday Park sits directly on the Lancashire coast, giving great sea views from many corners of the park. Now part of the Holgates Family Group of holiday parks, this location was once made up of two working farms – so it’s got quiet countryside all around as well as the coastline. And it’s got handy town facilities close by as well, with Bolton-le-Sands and Carnforth both just a couple of minutes' drive away. Morecambe (10 minutes’ drive) and Lancaster (15 minutes) are close by as well – and for greener times you’ll be close to walks in the Forest of Bowland National Landscape and the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales national parks. This is a place that’s been nicely designed with family holidays in mind (and yes, that includes family dogs, who are welcome to join you for a stay here. An outdoor play area and an indoor games room are on site to keep the kids entertained – and it’s only a short stroll along a traffic-free path to get to the beach for sand-based fun. Handy facilities include a launderette, a washing-up area and bathroom blocks, and there’s also a shop on site for self-catering bits (or pick up more supplies in the nearby towns). Over the weekend (Friday to Sunday) you’ll also be able to get drinks at the dog-friendly bar or settle in to the restaurant to have a meal cooked for you.

  • Fires, barbecues and/or firepits will not be permitted in dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions.

This is an exceptionally clean and well-maintained site with spacious, private pitches and outstanding, modern facilities. Staff are consistently praised for being friendly and helpful. Guests enjoyed the on-site bar and restaurant, with delicious food. While the location is excellent for exploring, some found the playground a long, steep walk from certain areas, and occasional noise from trains or other campers was noted. A few guests experienced issues with bar/restaurant opening times outside peak season.

Liked Everything. Great family camp with lots to do and see. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. The site itself is clean, quiet and in a perfect location. Toilets and showers were great too.

Liked Amazing site. Staff really welcomed us and were helpful and friendly. Toilets blocks are amazing, the best ones I have ever seen. Good safe site for little ones. It was their first time camping and they enjoyed so much they want to come back next week😃

Disliked Play area is quite a way from the tent field and is a bit of a trek for little ones.

Liked The hedged roomy fully serviced pitch was perfect for our first night in our new (to us) motorhome. The toilet/shower facilities were immaculate, and we liked the music playing. We had a drink in the bar which had nice friendly staff. Walked into Morecambe and got the bus back. Would definitely recommend.

Liked Liked the Size and privacy of the pitches. Shower and toilet block were beautiful. Water hot and very clean. I had a sunday roast at the pub witch was delicious and very reasonable

These are some lovely surroundings, and there are lots of ways to explore, from local bike rides to walks with Wreay Syke Alpacas (20 minutes’ drive) to motorised meandering with Lakeland Segway (35 minutes). RSPB Leighton Moss is popular for birdwatchers, with Lakeland Wildlife Oasis also close by for more exotic animal spottings (both 10 minutes’ drive). Keeping it all outdoors, you may like to head north to the Lakeland Maze Farm Park (20 minutes) or venture into the Yorkshire Dales National Park for places like White Scar Cave (35 minutes). Hit upon a rainy day? Get your heritage fix at places like Lancaster Castle (15 minutes), National Trust - Sizergh (20 minutes) or Levens Hall (20 minutes).
