Reviewers frequently praise the spacious, well-marked pitches, the quiet atmosphere even when busy, and the exceptionally clean portable toilets. The on-site honesty shop is a popular and convenient addition. So much beauty in such a small field.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked This is our second visit to Water Yeat campsite with many more to come in the future. The warmth of the hosts is only matched by the beautiful surroundings. The spacious and nicely spaced out pitches add to the relaxing atmosphere. Plenty of toilets are available that are cleaned and restocked each day.
At the bottom of the site is the river Crake. To the left (upstream) is Coniston Water and to the right (downstream) is Allan Tarm. The crystal clear water is lovely to swim or paddle board/kayak on. It’s also teaming with small fish which makes net fishing for little ones exciting yet safe. Don’t forget to take your fire pit with you as each pitch has its own concrete Slade to sit it on and Bill’s honesty shop sells boxes of seasoned logs and fire lighters.
Disliked We didn’t have time to stay longer.

Me and my son first visited…
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Me and my son first visited this campsite a year ago and it's now our 3rd time! We love the access to coniston lake, how peaceful the location is, the views! Also the honesty shop is super cute! We got to meet the owner this time round and he greeted us with a smile and made us feel very welcome. The site is also dog friendly which is perfect for us, as our husky loves to paddleboard.

Very good campsite and would definitely go back
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Great campsite in great surroundings and the river and lake at the bottom is brilliant
Disliked The field needed cutting as the grass was very thick and not easy to get around on and the toilets could of done with being emptied

The sute was ok with unclean toilets and too close together pitches.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked It was a great location and had good facilities.
Disliked Toilets were unclean and many children beside us were just doing their business out in the open including pooing. This greatly affected our holiday as it really set the vibe. Lots of families did not stick to the quiet hours policy and there was constant loud noise until 1 in the morning. I personally believe the campsite was way too busy and close together.

Fantastic little site!! Clean, great staff, and on the waters edge
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Very freindly staff, helpful and welcoming,
Clean toilets (as can be for portaloos) and cleaned very frequently with air fresheners and disinfectant spray! Remote location but so much to do! Easy access from car park, river and lake are a blessing in the heat and lovely for adults and kids to play!
Little honesty shop was good with all sorts of essential food and drink and they sell logs for a fire pit too! All in all fantastic little place and highly recommend, we will return!

Little Gem in the summer months
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Lovely little gem of a site… we’ve been twice now and will definitely return in the future. The owners are welcoming and friendly. The little honesty shop stocks a few essentials like water and firewood, (bring cash). Perfect location for accessing the waterways… 🫶🏼
Disliked Nothing to dislike. Yes, there’s portaloos which can sometimes smell a little, but they’re very clean and well stocked with loo rolls & hand sanitiser. No showers either, but we bought a little solar shower that will do the trick :)

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Absolutely AMAZING! I expected good things after reading about it but didn’t expect it to be so picturesque, beautiful and clean. The outdoor swimming area is breathtaking and it’s only a very short distance from the campsite. All campers were friendly and it was lovely to meet the owners who take great care of the site. We are going back ASAP 🤩
