• Pop-up site on an organic farm on the edge of the Lake District
  • Based on the site of the Down to Earth Conference
  • Plenty of places to eat and shop for local produce a short drive away
Down to Earth - North is a pop-up site on an organic farm on the edge of the Lake District, designed for guests and attendees of Down to Earth to stay in close quarters with the conference event held on the same farm. The site’s facilities are handy too. There are portable toilets and access to mains water. Guests can extend their adventures to the local villages. A few of the site’s recommendations include a tearoom 20 minutes’ drive away and a family-run pub or a café and crafters’ shop in the traditional village of Caldbeck (20 minutes’ drive). In Ireby (10 minutes), there’s an old church and a guesthouse. In Uldale (15 minutes), there’s a gallery and tearooms serving lunches, coffees and cake throughout the day. Caldbeck also has a village shop selling local produce. If you do need any larger supermarkets, pharmacies or petrol stations during your stay at Down to Earth, just make your way to Cockermouth, 15 minutes’ drive away, or Wigton, 15 minutes’ drive away.
