What customers say
A well-maintained, clean site with excellent, spacious and warm shower/toilet facilities. Many guests praised the friendly and helpful staff, and the superb location close to the beach and local amenities. The on-site ice cream parlour was a popular bonus. Some noted issues with drainage in wet weather and a lack of Wi-Fi, but overall, visitors found it a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

Liked The warm welcome.
The ice-cream parlour.
The facilities during the day.
Proximity of the campsite to the sea.
Disliked 3/4 dogs off the leads when reception was closed, also on the field away from reception when open.
Facilities during the early morning and late.at night due to people not showing respect, paper on floor, not tidying up after themselves.
Noise on the centre field but it is a family campsite.

Great find by the seaside, super clean, excellent facilities
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Excellent site next to the beach that allows for some idyllic walks. Showers and toilets were amazing, really good that you could get more than one person, even a family in at the same time is you wanted. Greeted by Stuart who was really friendly and informative giving us the low down of the area. Had a walk into the village for some great Fish and Chips, the fish being one of the nicest I've ever had, then a drink at the local in the beer garden. Would 100% recommend and return if the opportunity allows.

Liked The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were due to arrive in the middle of storm Floris but called ahead that morning and the lovely lady deferred our visit by a day plus extended us by one day at the end so we didn’t miss out. (We were offered a credit as an alternative if an extension didn’t suit us so I cannot fault how helpful they were considering the storm was out of their control)
We also had a last minute request to be next to friends also camping here which they managed to accommodate. (I appreciate this may not always be possible)
The site was always clean and well kept. No rubbish even after the storm.
Nice large family shower rooms and didn’t have to wait long even at busy times.
They are having -what looks like- a big play park ‘coming soon’ which looks fab. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see it as there is not much to do on site, but most kids seem to make their own fun running round etc.
You are able to borrow fire pits from reception which was nice to toast marshmallows on
Disliked I hate to say anything negative but for us, there were a few things that weren’t really ideal for us. So this is just my honest opinion.
The pitches are very close together. We were in a corner which felt quite ‘cosy’ with the neighbors. (Luckily we had nice neighbors). It also meant with the number of cars it felt like a car park and took away the idealistic green Lake District feel that I was expecting.
The showers temp are ok but on the hot side. There was a certain point during the evening (around 8-9pm) where the showers were like lava. Way too hot to shower a child so avoid this time of day.
It’s a very quiet area with not much happening/to do. Nothing currently on site. A couple of play parks nearby for the youngest and the aqua park for the teens were great.
Oh and the beach is right on your door step but sadly not a beach you can enjoy with family as it stoney/muddy and the sea no where so be seen as it’s so far out most of the time lol ! But nice to walk along the top with the dog. Oh and a great ice cream van to stop at just outside the camp.. it was just difficult to choose which flavour to try next 😉

Liked Quietness and space. Shower rooms were great. Very roomy.
Ice cream shop on site is fabulous and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked Nothing going on in Haverigg village or Millom.
One pub which doesn't allow dogs.
Ski Bar lacks atmosphere and staff not overly interactive.

Liked Location was fantastic, the park was really clean and the facilities were excellent. Staff went above and beyond to help people in tents after a storm - absolute stars! Showers were hot and so big. The ice cream shop was soooo good. Plenty of great walks for the dogs we all had an excellent stay - Thank you!

Liked The location is perfect for walks along the coast or into the hills of the lakes, the shower and toilet block are very good with large independent showers, toilet and sinks just perfect. The reception staff were extremely helpful. Will definitely be back thanks.
Disliked Grass very long and the cut grass just left on the ground would have been 10 out of 10 it’s a bit of detail but when you have two long haired dogs that a pain to get all that grass off then and even we could not sit out on the grass. Just get a mower that picks up the grass. If I was to penny pinch the motor home / caravan pitches are a bit too close.

Clean and great value lovely chilled campsite.
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Easily accessible , very clean, spacious, large pitches , clean toilets and showers well kept grounds
Disliked Unclear when booking in didn’t answer the phone so we were left unsure which pitch to go to ( around 9:30p. at night ). For those of us disabled it would help to have clear signage

Brilliant and clean site in a fab location
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked This was wonderful and a spectacular location. The on site facilities are amazing, which included a dog wash. The beach is a stones throw away, the shower blocks are luxury and a hairdryer was provided. Plenty of pot wash stations.
Choose your own pitch. Id have loved to have stayed longer, it was a wonderful site.

Liked Nice site beside the beach. Good for children. Showers were excellent.
Disliked I wish the sites would cut the grass and pick it up as they cut. It tramples all over the caravan.

Lovely site....great helpful hosts
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Stayed in campervan with awning, lovely site, the showers were lovely and hot brilliant that loo and shower were in the same room, separate men's and ladies loos aswell , ladies had a hairdryer, nice pot wash area with private booths, washing machine available, and freezers, hosts were lovely and very helpful, nice on site shop with essentials and firewood and firepits free of charge but not many. Literally on the sea so lots of seagulls which were being fed by a camoer during our stay so very noisy but in no way detrimental to the site. There's a bar and watersport centre aswell a very short walk , and an onsite ice-cream parlour with cakes.
