What customers say

This well-maintained campsite is praised for its excellent location, just a short walk from Kirkby Lonsdale. Visitors consistently highlight the friendly and helpful staff, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the pleasant, quiet atmosphere. Many appreciate the well-kept grounds, good amenities, and dog-friendly features, including a dedicated field. While the majority of reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few minor points were raised about the need for shower updates and some pitches being close together. Despite this, the overwhelming sentiment is that of a highly recommended site with many planning return visits.

Fully-serviced hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Very well kept site in the countryside. Level pitches. Staff very helpful at finding us a bigger pitch to stay on as we'd swapped our motorhome for a larger one since making the booking! A lovely walk into Kirkby Lonsdale from the site and along the river.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring caravan pitch (medium)

Liked Exceptional site. Great location. Peaceful and extremely well maintained. The gentleman on reception was lovely.
Showers are individual compartments with a toilet and sink and are very spacious.
Loved having the water hook up as makes life so much easier.
Nice easy walk into Kirby Lonsdale, which has plenty of pubs and some nice shops. The main supermarket is a Booths, which is a tad expensive. Would advise to take as much as you can with you.
Easy access to many good walks and attractions.
We liked it so much that we tried to extend our stay, unfortunately there was no availability but we will be back.

Disliked Not really a dislike but WiFi was very poor.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring caravan pitch (small)

Liked Friendly reception staff especially the lady on duty when we arrived. Pitches were good.

Disliked Site manager whose people skills left a lot to be desired. We recommend that the site manager undergoes some sort of customer service training. The toilet and shower facilities were not enough for the amount of folk using them. Additionally the loos/showers were not particularly inviting and did not seem particularly clean. We arrived late in the afternoon and it was absolutely bucketing down with rain so we asked the reception staff if exceptionally could we put up our self inflating tent which was so easy to erect in the weather conditions rather than our awning. We were told that we could but soon the site manager appeared and rudely told us to take our tent down due to their no pop up tent policy. We overcame this issue by laying out drive away awning over the pop up tent for our stay. Also the policy at this site is nobody is permitted to sleep in the awning which for some visitors could prove problematic, especially those with children our guests.

Local attractions

Got a month or so to spare…? You might need a good patch of time to make the most of the excellent outdoor offerings in this part of the world – the site’s 20 minutes from the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and half an hour from the Lake District National Park, so it’s unlikely you’ll ever run out of fells, crags and tarns to explore. If cavorting at the coast appeals, that’s on the menu of attractions too: the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is 20 minutes away for following specially set up arts and crafts trails or dawdling on the sands of Morecambe Bay. Other aquatic activities nearby include walks around the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail (a 10-minute drive), or you may prefer a subterranean saunter around the White Scar Caves (15 minutes). If all that sounds far too active for your laidback temperament, turn up at Hawes (35 minutes), deep in the Yorkshire Dales, to spend afternoons sampling the Wensleydale cheese produced here instead.
