Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Everything. The view was breathtaking and the facilities were spot on. Hot clean showers and toilets. We had a little wander over to the business units and the bakery there was amazing. Lindsay the owner of the site is lovely and she has so many new ideas for the future of this site.
Disliked I can’t say there was anything we disliked.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Stunning location with 360 degrees of Lake District majestic views. Facilities were perfect for our stopover, all very clean and tidy. Short walk over to Braithwaite where we had a lovely meal at The Royal Oak, dog friendly and very welcoming.
Disliked I used what 3 words to pinpoint the turn off from the main road and we noticed that there wasn’t a sign. I think just a small one would just reassure visitors that you were on the right path!

From the manager: Hi Charles, thank you so much for your review, I am indeed going to risk it for a biscuit and pop a sign at the end of the lane, if you type The Willows into google maps that does bring you right to us, but your absolutely right we need a sign. Thanks so much for a fantastic review it means a lot, Lindsey
Lovely small campsite. Excellent clean facilities.

From the manager: What a lovely review thank you so much, I think I was one of those during covid that just went crazy for loo roll!! Next time you come I hope its even better, we are doing the toilets up this autumn/winter so all three are the same as the more modern first one. Really grateful for your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back, thank you both, Lindsey
Needs a bit of attention, but would be a great site for touring .
Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Position, great for 3 pubs and adjacent to Bus routes
Hard Standing and water adjacent, great
Views, great
Dog walking great
Far enough down drive not to hear the A66
Nice welcome
Disliked No cleaning of toilets or showers evident during our 3 night stay made it feel tacky
You have to lift a man hole cover that was not clean to dispose of toilet waste, and the adjacent mains water tap had no hose, so putting your cassette to the tap is very unhygenic.
Really needs a sign off of the A66, a fast road and you don't want to be mucking around trying to find the site

From the manager: I am dissapointed to read your comments about the toilets as they are cleaned daily at least once, and are commented on their cleanliness on pretty much every review we have received for being so clean and tidy;
"Restrooms are immaculately maintained"
"Very clean amenities plenty hot water "
"Showers / toilets / washing up facilities were great and cleaned regularly"
(just a few examples)
There is a sign in the toilets (both toilets) which states if anything at all is not to your satisfaction to let me know so I can remedy it immediately and I am astounded that during your three night stay you were unable to tell me.
Personally if I am not happy with something I dont leave it until I get home to my computer to leave comments as you have, I would much rather say something and then enjoy my holiday I have paid for, we live on the farm and I could have immediately rectified it? I find this type of feedback extremely unhelpful as it leaves no room for me to make better something you were not dissatisfied with whilst here? To wait until you get home having been dissatisfied for your 3 day stay says a lot to me.
We can be found by typing "the willows keswick" into google maps, I also send a map prior to arrival in case you dont know how to navigate online maps and once again something that we have had only positive feedback on is in fact our location but more so how easy we are to find?
I will have a look to see what I can do about the man hole cover as the last thing I want is for anyone to feel it isnt hygienic in any way.
We are a brand new site and will always welcome the feedback I have from guests be it positive or room for improvement and have so far made some really positive changes which is what we are all about.
I am relieved to read that you would not visit again.
New site with a few teething problems, level stony pitches.
Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Location, scenery lovely. Small site, only really suitable for campervans without awnings on a hardstanding stony pitch. Toilet and showers were fine and unisex not a problem.
Disliked Ground not really suitable for awnings as stony and got very wet in the rain. Pitches are only 5m x 5m so to have a full awning meant tight space wise. Shower block had a heater in it which wasn't on, no instructions as to how it worked.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your feedback totally accept the issues with getting the awnings in, we would have loved to have some more grassy areas but for various reasons (mainly drainage after heavy rainfall) it wasnt to be. The heater in the shower block should be on all the time I will take a look at it, in block one its on a timer but i leave the other one on all the time as it gets a bit cooler in there with the window, thanks for letting me know. Hopefully next time you visit everything will be a bit more established and "green" (cross your fingers for some good weather) and I will also check on pitch-up but I think the size of the marked pitches is stated as 5mx5m but will double check as dont want anyone feeling squished in, thanks again will go and look at those heaters now, Lindsey
Quiet. Easy to find.…
Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Quiet. Easy to find.
Disliked Basic, feels like it’s in an industrial estate with all the containers and factories around. Tents look cool though.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Hi Sinead,
I’m sorry you felt it was like an industrial estate. The nearest factory is actually about 35 miles away in a place called Siddick. I think you might mean the farm buildings – we are on our own working farm, and this is the very first time anyone has ever described it as “industrial.”
The units in the yard are lucky to share the same incredible mountain views as the campsite. From here you get unobstructed, 360-degree views of the fells, as well as fields with our cows, sheep, and even our willow crop (hence the name).
We absolutely love this part of the Lake District that we’re lucky enough to call home – and to share with our visitors. The tents are fab, aren’t they? 😊
